I had a party exactly in the small village of Bussum and the Jan Tabak name is pretty well known in the Netherlands (or at least Amsterdam/Gooi region), but I was quite disappointed. Check-in time is 15h00, I arrive around 16h00, but the room was not cleaned yet. Once I was able to go in, the windows were wide open, while it was about 6 degrees outside. I turned up the heaters to the max, but even by the time I went to bed (after the party, so around 3 am), it still wasn't warm. The room was spacious, but the lighting was horrible. Bright white, so not very welcoming/cozy to stay in your room. So I went for diner in the hotel restaurant (after first visiting the bar, which is very nice!!). Quality of the food was good, but the service....though very kind, very badly organized. First question what I wanted to drink; I ordered a bottle of water and a bottle of wine. The wine came quickly. After another 10 minutes the waiter asked me if I was ready to order. I hadn't even seen a menu yet.... That was quickly fixed and I ordered starters and main. Starter was fine. Then the main came, which looked nice as well. Unfortunately it took another 10 minutes to get cutlery... at which time they also noticed the water I ordered never came. Finally dessert. My order came promptly....twice! Next day I had to leave early, that's 8h00. Unfortunately in the weekend breakfast only starts at 8h00...so not for me.
