"Wow ! After being here 2 days and eating out on the front at silly tourist prices we tried this place as its was on the way back to our b&b . Wish we had discovered it on the first day as we would have made it a regular for our meals and saved a pretty penny also . The pub itself is traditional and not massive and the menu is not that extensive but the food was fabulous home cooked and very large portions. Hubby had gammon egg and chips and said it was the nicest gammon he’d had in a long time ,chips were proper home cooked chips as were the onion rings . I had cottage pie with veg and this again was a very generous portion and at less than £25 for both of us absolutely amazing value for money . I would highly recommend this hidden gem especially if on a budget and bothams bakery is just over the road if you’ve any room for dessert which I very much doubt will be the case ."

"Ordered the Food burgers a steak and so called slow cooked beef the steak was fatty so was the slow cooked beef and I would say it was a boil in the bag the burgers where like a happy meal from maccy ds at least they do it right didn’t complain as in company but would just like to warn folk about it thanks"

"Our staying at the Witching Post Inn could have not been better. Our room was spacious and very confortable. And the place has a lot of personality and history. If you want to know the roots of this place you can speak to the landlord, Pete. But more important Pete makes you feel at home, as you are part of the family. The stories, the jokes and the environment in the pub is so cosy that makes you feel you are between friends. And don't look anywhere else for food and drinks. We had dinner in here during the Parmo night, and the food was fantastic, one of the best we had in the area. And this includes the beer and gins. Also, we vouch for the breakfast, the full breakfast is delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. If you are staying the area, please do yourself a favor and stay at the Witching Post Inn. I am glad we chose this place for our staying, and a big thanks to Pete and all the staff for the lovely and welcoming staying"

"My family and I stayed here and we highly recommend it. Lorraine is very hospitable and made us feel comfortable and at ease in her establishment, she was also very quick to respond to any queries we had before our stay. The family room was clean, comfy and met all of our needs. The bed itself is very comfy, we slept so well. In the morning we helped ourselves to toast, juice and a pastry from the breakfast bar outside our room in the morning. Parking was not an issue either, the walk to the main bit of Whitby was about 20 minutes and yes there is a bit of an uphill walk on the way back but we didn't struggle with it. Would definitely stay again."
