Bonaventure Resort and Spa

This used to be one of the great hotels in the area. Now it is runned down and needing a urgent but really URGEN...deep really deep re furbushing throughout. Our one night stay for a concert near by was not bad but the property itself lacks cleanliness painting maintenance...what a shame...the owners must do something about it

Like many have mentioned, this place was probably nice 10 years ago. But it looks like it was abandoned and recently taken back over by someone. I need to bring an insecticide and get rid of all the bugs. They were bugs in our bedroom, both in the bathroom bugs everywhere. I even went to the restaurant and they were bugs on the food. It was mildew and mold all over the buildings, doors did not seal sidewalks are cracked, the place is disgusting. We were in building eight, which was one of the furthest buildings from the restaurant in lobby and pool, and the elevators did not work. And of course we were on the top floor. However, you do walk into the restaurant in the bar area and it’s like a totally different hotel: very nice, very clean and the service was pretty good in there. But anywhere else including the pool, the pool bar, the hotel rooms and the rest of the resort was disgusting. I believe if the health department came they would shut the place down. Everything else around here was $400 to $500 a night so I understand why there are so many people there. With so many people coming into this area from out of town, unless you read these reviews, you have no idea how bad this place is because of the great pictures they list online. And again, if this place were properly maintained this could be a great resort. But everyone else was fooled by the pictures online as well as we were. If you have any other choices stay elsewhere.

Poor water pressure, poor maintenance, very dated, using covid as an excuse for closed Fitness Center 2 years later, tiki hut bar not open, shower head coming out of wall, elevator not working and was not working 11 months ago when I stayed at the same property.

We stayed here for 5 nights. The 1 bed room was large enough for a family of 4. When we got to the room it looked like it had been unused for maybe a weel or 2 because there was a layer of dust on the counters, side tables etc. We complained about that to the manager and they promised to have it cleaned but nobody came. The kitchenette was fine but there were so supplies! No plates, utensils or any cooking equipment. We complained and asked just for 1 pot to heat up baby's milk but they couldn't make that happen. We had to purchase paper and plastic goods but weren't able to really cook a meal as we had hoped. They said it was because of covid. It was a nice clean facility but we really had to call room service for everything--extra towels, coffee refills (they are single serve not sold at stores), and to take the garbage that filled up each day. Bathroom was spacious and several ppl could use it at once. Balcony was nice but had a lot of palm tree debris on it so we had to call to have that swept up too. Pool was also nice but a bit top cold. They don't have it heated. Main lobby was very pretty as well as the grounds. The dust on counters and no kitchen supplies were surprising but overall the stay was good. On the weekdays we seemed like there was nobody else there and we had the resort to ourselves but then on the weekend it filled up a bit. There was a wedding, a gymnastics competition. The food served at the bar was good and we were able to eat that poolside which was very convenient with 2 little ones. Manager said we could order food and drinks at the poolside tiki hut bar but it was never opened when we were there.

My husband and I booked a room at this resort. We were told we could upgrade our room if there was availability . We were never informed there would be an additional cost. When we checked in we were offered to upgrade for over $50 per nt. We looked at the initial room. which was dingy and small. We paid to upgrade. which was our only option and feel mislead. We have stayed at Gold Crown RCI resorts and this not a Gold Crown resort. The rooms are dingy,ugly and looked dated. For the cost of all the fees involved to maintain RCI I feel this is a "rip off". As a 40 year RCI member, I question why anyone would buy timeshare and become an RCI member. The RCI help desk, virtually just takes your complaints but does not intervene to help.
