Comilla Bungalow

Very homely place, tastefully furbished, and not very far from Colombo, amidst nature with lots of birds around. We stayed at the Sunset cottage which was very clean and cozy with all modern amenities such as AC, TV, and mini fridge. The pool was very clean too. All fresh juices, fresh milk, and nothing artificial or pre-cooked. The food prepared by Chamara was exceptional!! Chamara, Indika, and Janaka are doing a great job of making the guests feel very comfortable and welcome in every way. Highly recommend this bungalow for a getaway surrounded by peaceful nature and good food.

This is a wonderful place just by the look . The birds here are really tame even woodpeckers just sit on the path. The place looks ECO friendly rooms are very nice and spacious . There are lots of trees and grass. The pool is small but enjoyable, my brother and I had a lot of fun there. The food is really nice too. In room SUNSET 1 you get a really nice scenery of trees and grass. I like this place and would not mind coming back

i have no clue on the premises as I was not able to travel there due worst management team I have ever seen. We reserved the villa on February however was not able to travel as we had a family funeral. They agreed to hold our reservation for a later date which is appreciated. Later we reserved another date, and after sometimes they informed that they have an overbooking with foreign travelers and requested us to change our reservation, which we agreed. Finally reserved another date for the 3rd time, and informed that the rates have gone up and I have to pay for 3 people extra as they thought the initial booking was for less people. I agreed to both reluctantly, and before 4 days to our reservation informed that their whole staff is down with flu and have decided to cancel all the bookings for the month. This seems highly unlikely as there is no common flu which is going around in the country at the moment, and I suspect that they got another reservation from foreign tourists with higher charges. In addition our reserved period was for a long weekend and it was not possible for us to find another place with such a short notice. Honestly I will not ever recommend this place for a local tourist. The so called management/ board is one of the worst management teams I have seen. At least they could have offered some other place that they recommend, but they were not willing to do so.

I made reservations close to a month ago to stay over at Comilla bunglow in July. I was traveling from Australia with my family. Paid advance payment and they confirmed a late check- out too. Later a week before they asked for a room to be cleared 9 am the next day and I agreed. Close to date they wanted 2 rooms out of 5 to be cleared at 9am the next day which was completely out of all the hotel policies in the world. They were saying some foreigners were coming in. I don’t suggest anyone to visit this place filled with poor hospitality even before you visit there. Cheap and 3rd class management and poor communication skills. Everyone in my family was inconvenienced because of last minute change of the hotel’s poor change of plans. Hospitality is a known enemy to them. We would never set foot in this location. Anyone disagreeing- I can provide Advance payment details to all communications between the hotel and me.
