We are seasoned travellers and on a road trip around New Zealand. The Riverstone exceeded our expectations for a motel in Rangiora. From our first contact Charlotte & Mike were very pleasant and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Clear concise communications. On our arrival we received a warm and friendly greeting. The room was spotlessly clean with high end furnishings and everything you could need for a short stay. A true bonus was the 74 steps to the bar and restaurant next door. The rooms are well insulated so there was NO noise from the bar next door. We look forward to staying again in the not to distant future. Julie & Martin

The hotel was a pleasant surprise , clean, well furnished, spacious, great kitchenette with all cooking utensils and equipment needed to cook brekky, bathroom spacious and water hot. Even a coffee machine for guest use in the front reception. The hosts Charlotte and Mike were lovely and couldnt be anymore helpful. Mike mentioned the pub behind the hotel was good for a feed and a beer, my husband ask him did they have Stienlager on tap Mike wasn't sure but went out of his way to walk over and ask the bar staff, what a good man. We only stayed 1 night as we were heasding to Picton, but if we are ever in the region again will definately stay at the Riverstone. Thanks Guys great work..... Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.A+++++

We took the ferry from Wellington to Picton and drove to Rangiora. It was a comfortable stop on our way to the west coast of the South Island! Our hosts were so helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed! Thanks again for your hospitality

We had the best stay at Mike and Charlotte’s place. They were fantastic hosts and there was nothing they hadn’t thought of. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chocolate because my husband ate them both. Our room was spotless with lots of lovely touches. My husband commented that he hasn’t seen such shiny sinks since his military days. It was nice to see champagne glasses, shame we had no champagne to drink :) We can’t wait to stay again. It is without a doubt one of the best places we have EVER stayed at in New Zealand. Thanks again both, you are AMAZING!

One of the best motels we've ever stayed in. The facilities were superb. The studio was super clean and pristine. Everything you required for a comfortable stay was in place. Charlotte and Mike could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Thank you both.
