Mango Bay Resort

Loved our week long stay. Beachfront suite steps from the water was awesome. Most days there were only a few other people on the beach. Ruby and her husband were really friendly and helpful. The grounds were well kept and our daily maid was great. The onsite restaurant was good, but had a limited menu and was a little overpriced. The new owner has big plans for updating the property and are currently building a new pavilion just off the new dock to move the restaurant there. We would definitely return.

After our sailing trip we stayed at Mango Bay to relax and rejuvenate after an active 7 days. We booked the beachfront villa and rarely left the resort as it was so peaceful and beautiful. We snorkeled out our front door and spent hours reading and relaxing in the hammock on our beach. We rented a car to grab groceries and go out to dinner because It was more economical than a taxi. There are 2 amazing restaurants within 2-5 miles of Mango Bay. Mary Beth is a fabulous host. She made our car arrangements, dinner reservations and was very welcoming and informative.

The most beautiful spot we stayed on our travel to BVI. You are right on the beach and can use their water sport gear for free (snorkel gear, paddle boards, kayaks). Very helpful staff and will stay again if we make it back to BVI.

We have been visiting this resort regularly for almost 25 years, not including the time it was rebuilding after the 2017 hurricane and covid. It is relaxed and quite comfortable, a little bit of paradise. It has studio, one bedroom and two bedroom villas located either facing the water and the gardens. All have kitchen facilities. It is well maintained by the attentive staff. It is on a lovely, solitary beach with a reef made for snorkeling. They provide gear and kayaks to the guests. A pool was added 2-4 years ago which adds to the amenities. The new owner plans to add restaurant facilities in the near future. If you want to relax, this is the place.

Mango Bay resort was fantastic! The location was super convenient to all spots on the island, and the beaches were incredible. MaryBeth is one of the best concierges I've ever had at a hotel.

We stayed at this beautiful place for our honeymoon. When we arrived there was a personal note and fresh flowers congratulating us, such a nice touch. The rooms were clean and well stocked with towels and all the things you would want. Before arriving we wanted fun dinner plans on the nights we were there. The staff was awesome at communicating about dinner reservations and ferry schedules making sure we arrived at dinner on time. It was a wonderful vacation and we will be back someday soon. I am not a picky person at all but this place was just not appealing at all! I will start with the positive, I will give it 10/10 for the beautiful location, the pristine beach and amazing views. The gardens and greenery was very beautiful. The staff,especially Mo,was very friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed the free paddle boards and snorkeling and just beach combing. And that was it! We were very disappointed and disgusted with the showers and toilets in the rooms. It was stained really bad that you would want to throw up. It was very bad! Most of the times we used the restruant washrooms. There was no bath mat or face towels or a garbage bin in the washroom. The front receptionist said they don't provide those in the garden bures. The sink had do much hair in it when we got on the room. I had to clean it. Our bed was another story! It would tilt up in the air as soon as we slept on it! We had to sleep sideways on the bed. This resort needs a major upgrades in the rooms. We have stayed at a few resorts nearby to this one and no one had the disgusting toilets like Mango Bay. We loved the place but definitely won't come back because of the disgusting rooms.

Mango Bay BVI is truly one of our favorite places to stay on Virgin Gorda. We’ve enjoyed several staycations here over the past five years and have stayed in multiple different room categories - each one has been fantastic in its own way. The oceanfront rooms are unbeatable, with stunning sea views and a proximity to the beach that’s hard to match anywhere else on the island. At the same time, we also love the cooler, leafy tranquility of the garden units, which offer a wonderfully peaceful and private escape. The addition of the pool has been a fantastic enhancement to the property, adding even more to the relaxed, resort-style feel. We especially love it in the evenings with the bistro lights adding a twinkling glow on the water - it's the perfect place to catch up with a drink before dinner. Speaking of dinner - we’re very much looking forward to the opening of their restaurant when it comes but, in the meantime, we enjoy excellent dining at Sugarcane Restaurant, which is conveniently close by - and it’s an added bonus that Mango Bay guests now have membership access to Sugarcane’s sports club facilities. The service is always superb, Ashley, Mary Beth, and the rest of the team consistently go above and beyond to make every stay special. We can’t recommend Mango Bay highly enough and already look forward to our next stay.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Mango Bay Resort over the last week. We were debating about staying at a full-service resort vs. more of a villa style hotel. After speaking with friends who know the island, we decided the villa style is more of a "real" Virgin Gorda experience. We were very happy we made this decision. While there is no restaurant on site, we had a car and had groceries delivered before we arrived. 1) The location is perfect. The pictures on the web site do not give you a sense of how amazing the view is from the resort (including sunsets!). You have great snorkeling right out your door. You are close to Spanish Town and the Baths but still feel secluded. 2) Mary Beth is a very welcoming hotel manager who helped us with all the details and recommendations. She went out of her way to help us settle in when our bags were delayed. 3) We stayed in a large villa on the beach (#11) for most of the time and a smaller upstairs unit above the pool (#2A) for the last night b/c of availability. Beachfront is definitely the way to go--with wrap around water views and swimming just steps from your private patio. That said, both rooms were well appointed and had great mattresses (a must for us). We didn't feel we were lacking in our last night. 4) With our car we were able to freely zip around the island, try local hot spots, and make connections with incredibly warm local islanders who we would have never met if we stayed "on resort." For restaurants near the hotel, we recommend in order 1) CocoMaya (special night out) 2) Chez Bamboo (in town with great food, chill vibe, and the best Mojitos) 3) Sugarcane (right up the hill and great views). We did one lunch at the large resort near Spanish Town and honestly, while nice, it felt overrun compared with our near private beach at Mango Bay. One day we did a half day private boat charter with Ocean Bliss--which was a great way to get the "yacht" experience on the North Sound at a fraction of the price. We look forward to our next visit back, maybe we'll bring the kids--maybe not!
