A friend and I booked this place to stay for two nights while we were in town for a tech expo. We chose this place because it was fairly priced and not too far from the convention center. It turned out to be a bait and switch scam - the photos typically shown do not accurately reflect the properties we were shown at all. They portray a reasonable B&B, but what we saw was more like a hostel in an underdeveloped country. It was an old, poorly kept house, and a woman met us in the living room with a stack of papers from different travel sites. When she found my booking she said they had "triple-booked" the room, and it was occupied. They never tried to contact me about this. She apologized, and said that the "manager" was on his way over to pick us up and take us to another house where they had a room. We weren't OK with this and asked for the address so we could go check it out ourselves. She offered to refund our stay if we didn't like it. When we got there we found a similar situation, though this one was very stinky, like a restaurant kitchen + cigarette smoke, and there were a bunch of people working in the kitchen. As we walked to the bedroom a couple of them started following us. We peeked inside the bedroom and it was just empty except for two old metal frame beds with thin foam mattresses, and a fan sitting on a chair. No dressers, no fridge/microwave/coffee like you'd find anywhere else. We excused ourselves and called the first woman back to proceed with the refund and she agreed, but two days later I still needed to follow up with ******* because she had not.
