Best bits about the hotel were the breakfast and the location. Breakfast was hearty buffet perfect for setting up a wslking ***. Location in Valnontey means you are at the foot of the trail to the Sella refuge and that bit closer to the glaciers compared to Cogne. Room was clean with balcony: only issue was that shower took a while to get warm. Two sisters friendly and helped us with walks. Go to Bar du Village for drinks with view of glaciers.

WOW, I absolutely loved my stay in this hotel!
I travelled alone, but the whole staff made me feel so welcome and relaxed. The two daughters (around my age) were really helpful, regarding practical 'stuff'; and I really appreciated their enthusiasm and support regarding me climbing the Gran Paradiso summit!
The breakfast is incredible! Luckily all the hours of walking evened it out calory wise ;).
Hotel Herbetet is located in beautiful and very quiet Valnontey, ideal starting point for many magnificant (long) hikes. I wish I could have stayed longer, this region is perfect for nature-loving hikers. The nice little mountain village Cogne is just a quick walk (or drive) away and provides you with cute shops, very good espressos, additional restaurants an a small supermarket.
I will definitely return to this hotel some day (hopefully in the near future)!

Had a wonderful stay here. The hotel’s location is beautiful and you can start your hike in the area right from the hotel. The staff was very nice, the room was large and breakfast was good with a large selection of cold items. Will gladly return here.

I loved staying in Valnontey, and the two sisters, Nathalie and Christine, who manage Hotel Herbetet couldn't be more welcoming or helpful! The room was clean and nicely designed, with a little view out the window down the valley. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Herbetet.

L’hotel herbetet è in una posizione fantastica ed è la soluzione ottimale quando si va a Valnontey in compagnia dei pelosetti! Oltre al prato intorno alla struttura ben curato, dove potersi rilassare al sole, c’è un sentiero e del prato libero in cui far passeggiar il cane senza disturbare gli altri clienti! Pulizia, accoglienza e la gentilezza dei proprietari rendono il Soggiorno piacevole e rassicurante! Il momento più atteso è quello della colazione dolce e salata,con torte buonissime e pane integrale, yogurt formaggi, ecc., insomma c’è né per tutti i gusti! Infine anche se la struttura non prevede la ristorazione tutto intorno ci sono ottimi ristoranti e pizzerie che soddisfano tutti i palati

La camera standard è piuttosto squallida con arredi minimali (manca anche una panchina per appoggiare i bagagli) e luce tipo lumino cimiteriale. Mancano le prese per ricaricare almeno un tablet e un cellulare. La stanza era inoltre piuttosto fredda ( per non parlare del bagno) e siamo stati costretti a dormire con la felpa. Le proprietarie resesi conto del nostro disappunto non sono state in grado di cambiarci la stanza e che hanno concesso di andarcene subito dopo la prima notte delle tre prenotate

Ho trascorso 10 giorni all'Hotel Herbetet con la mia famiglia a luglio 2023. E' stata un'esperienza che ripeterò senz'altro. La famiglia che gestisce l'hotel mette a proprio agio, fornendo un servizio di alta qualità. Cristina e Natalie hanno sempre il sorriso e si prendono cura di ogni dettaglio. L'ambiente è molto accogliente e confortevole. Delizioso il salottino interno, ideale per la lettura. A colazione non mancano mai le squisite torte fatte in casa della loro mamma. Consiglio di provare il Genespritz come aperitivo, nel grazioso giardino oppure nella accogliente sala interna.
