Maison Pic

A most wonderful hotel, very quiet, with bedrooms overlooking a beautifully designed garden at the rear of the main house. The Front of House staff are truly amazing, very welcoming and caring. Even the voiturier, when you when first arrive, seems to genuinely care about you. Nothing is too much trouble and one feels nurtured all the time. The bedroom, with a little balcony, was very peaceful and had a large and luxurious bathroom. The breakfast is served in the bar area. You dont have to have a full continental or american breakfast instead you can order whatever you wish. The town centre is about 15 minutes walk away. The only downside is the rather disappointing bistrot, Andre, with an uninspiring menu and poor atmosphere. Such a shame in an otherwise exceptional hotel that you just long to go back to.

The hotel is just great! Excelent Experience. Lovely decoration, fantastic room and beds. Only missing thing was bigger windows, a bit more natural light. Excelent food at the Andre`s, we loved it. Would be great having the chance to visit Maison Pic again.

Exceptional service and outstanding cuisine—a flawless pairing. From the gracious valet parking to the meticulously appointed room, impeccable service permeated every moment. The dinner experience at Andre Bistro was exquisite, complemented by a wonderful bar and a superb breakfast. The check-out process was notably attentive, culminating in a departure where our car awaited at the door, with water and sweets for the journey home.

From start to finish - from booking, to post-departure, everything flowed perfectly at Maison Pic. Their incredible team looked after everything - waiting for us on the side of the road when we arrived, giving us a tour of the wine cellar, guiding us through the most amazing food experience I think we've done (close call!) and then right through to our wonderful breakfast. We will certainly return - and eagerly await their opening in Dubai!

Fabulous restaurant and good room, spoiled by being overcharged on checkout and lack of staff meaning we had to carry bags and wait on check out. The whole stay was spoiled by the mismanagement and billing both at dinner and check out. Really amateurish and left a bad taste

The beautifull location in a small town(but not too small), the reception, the service, the wine list are all unbelievable, all this with food that is on another level!! The menu is set without the typical ingredients that dominate todays modern fine dinning restaurants. No wagyu, no otoro, no sea urchin, only superbly delicious french food. At this restaurant prepare yourself to experience a trip into the history and seasonal ingredients from around the area, with nods to past (3 star) ancestors.. The menu is executed perfectly, the service is very professional and yet very friendly. I have eated in lots 3 star restaurants in France and have not had an experience like this since La Ferme de mon pere of Marc Veyrat in Megeve. It is really worth the trip! Stay the night is you can and go cycling into town! The rooms and the service are superb!

Long an admirer of Madame Sophie Pic, follow on Facebook, just lovely looking food and great access to recipes. Food poor, accommodations excellent! Even though we had THE smallest room (by the map on the back of the door) we had a very generous room with lovely amenities. The bar and the pool in the middle of an average city, all the common areas were just exceeding expectations. The pool area and bar service there were perfect with reasonable wines and prices. We loved all of this. Because of the day, the main restaurant was unavailable for our stay but we gladly went to André with Sophie Pic's endorsement as an homage to her father. Right from arrival everything fell apart. We wanted to sit inside not out where people smoke. Where we live we can eat outside whenever we please, so it's not what we choose to do. They tried to seat us directly adjacent to a man who came :20 later, apparently well-known to all and with his favourite seat. We choose another and the staff seemed insulted. The (?) sommelier got my wine wrong. The hotel and restaurant were alerted to a food intolerance and the veal dish I wanted contained the item I cannot tolerate. The waiter HAD TO ASK the kitchen ... The veal, BTW was tough, chewy, grisly and stringy, not worthy of being in a revered restaurant and one I would complain to my butcher about. Seasonal tomatoes which we had been eating all over France were the least well-presented and least quality of the entire month-long trip. The plats were forgettable, I finally got the Rhône wine I ordered. Desert unremarkable. Breakfast which we were told we MUST have was more instagram-able than remarkable. Bland, tasteless, no choice just a set pastry tower of note for its unimpressiveness and a beautiful presentation of fruit. Breakfast at 40 pp is what they want you to have. Service was virtually non-existent. Room climate control had no fan to move the air, unfixable by staff, still steamy at 10 from 6 pm shower. The porter did not come to collect our bags and then insisted on filling the car with our luggage with no idea how to fit it in place, first bag blocking the driver's seat moved up by valet (I am nearly 2m tall) I finally had to pack it myself. Huge disappointment except the lodging.

While dinner at Restaurant AS PIC was good, it was not perfect, and a bit convoluted contrived/trying too hard, and losing the big picture. However, we were really offended by the accommodation & room price in particular. We ended up paying nearly €650 per room - a high 5 star price, whereas the room was at best a solid 4 star room. And that is excluding breakfast!! What was offensive was that the same room was €250 on other nights. So we felt we were clearly being gouged. We did not travel to Valence for the room, we travelled there for the food. To then be surged price on the room, ensures we will definitely not return or recommend. Other Michelin 3star properties offer all in packages, which is fair. This establishment unfortunately is using its good name to rip off patrons. Really not acceptable.
