Flamingo Guesthouse

As friendly as the landlady was, my friend and I checked out of the Flamingo Guesthouse after 1 night following a very uncomfortable stay. The guesthouse is full of old fashioned dark brown furniture and feels like a ******* house. The family room we stayed in was small and again, full of musty smelling furniture. The bathroom door had a huge hole in it where the handle used to be - causing going to the toilet to be a very public experience. Bathroom is also dated. There is lots of noise from the street (it is not beach front) and when someone from the room next door opens and closes their room door it caused our door to shake and wake us up. There is no generator and the AC was off for hours at a time during the night due to the current power cuts happening. Compared to the many other places we stayed during our time in Sri Lanka this guest house is overpriced.
