What a joke of a hotel...so-called renovation to be a Tapestry property - absolutely a failed effort. The front desk staff to the breakfast gals who hardly spoke English but preferred to speak in their mexican language couldn't be bothered to take our Diamond credit order until we "fished" then out of the back kitchen where they were chatting away. We will never stay here again and a 24 year Diamond member it takes a lot to make me feel this way!

Our first time staying here, it’s a nice hotel aways from the town of Truckee. The power was shut off for the fire in Reno about 6:30 pm the day we arrived until about midnight. We thought about driving home but all of us had wine with dinner so not safe to drive. There were no lights, tv, phone service (internet), showers, elevators etc. so we hung out with our friends outside until we went to bed. When checking out I asked if there would be any sort of credit and the front desk said no. We didn’t even get a text telling us what was happening the evening it happened. No breakfast, coffee or anything offered the next morning just that it happened to all of us and they couldn’t help it. Not the best customer service. Even though it’s a nice hotel I would probably pick somewhere else to stay even though I’m a Hilton honors member. They must not need guests here.

A lovely hotel that fits in very well with the charming surroundings of this part of Lake Tahoe. It is slightly removed from the hustle and bustle around the lake, which makes for a quieter and more relaxing stay, while still being easy to access. The only downside to the setting is the storage facilities behind the hotel, which somewhat spoil the otherwise attractive surroundings. The welcome at the hotel was very friendly, and the property makes a genuine effort to create a pleasant mountain-lodge atmosphere. There is also a small lounge area available to guests, although it seems to be rarely used. The fitness room is fairly basic, but well equipped. The swimming pool is excellent: clean, pleasant and sunny for most of the day. The small hot tub is also a real treat. Our room was fairly standard for this type of property. It appeared to have been renovated and was in good condition. That said, housekeeping could occasionally move the furniture and vacuum underneath it a little more thoroughly. As is often the case — unfortunately — it is probably best not to look too closely at the small details. If there was one real disappointment during our stay, it was breakfast. First of all, breakfast is not included in the room rate. Based on previous guest reviews, we had expected a buffet to be available for a modest additional charge. However, this is apparently no longer the case. Breakfast now consists essentially of a breakfast burrito, croissant sandwich or bagel, served with a small portion of potatoes on the side. There is also a yogurt option, but it is hardly the kind of breakfast that sets you up properly for the day. The portions are rather small and the overall quality is fairly mediocre, despite the friendliness of the lady serving breakfast. It is a real shame that the hotel does not offer something more substantial and of better quality. It is also disappointing that guests have to pay for parking. Truckee itself is a beautiful town, nearby Donner Lake is stunning, and the easy access to Lake Tahoe — particularly Kings Beach — are all major advantages of staying here. This hotel has a lot going for it, and it really would not take much to turn a good stay into an excellent one. That is what makes the few shortcomings all the more frustrating.

Hilton company did a great job remodeling this hotel. Quiet rooms and everything was good quality. The hotel staff were great. We would have given it 5 stars but the breakfast was way below the quality of the hotel and the breakfast staff were not trained.

The hotel is nice and remodeled. On arrival we were informed the the elevator was broken and they were not sure when it would be repaired. We were on the 3rd floor and not offered a room on the first floor to accommodate our mobility due that we were seniors and a disabled veteran. Was not a pleasant experience going up and down 3 flight of stairs numerous times a day. Paula

The hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms are nice. Everything clean. But THERE IS NO CLOSET, no hangars. Only a few pegs in the wall and shelves. And the restaurant staff is so rude. The breakfast was terrible - very limited choices, out of many items, and they give you random food - for instance breakfast sandwich was supposed to have bacon and they did sausage without saying a word about it! So disappointing because the hotel is nice. Hope they fix the staff!

The ownership seemed in transition with policy like free breakfasts being changed. The buffet breakfast was not offered. Room was clean but the auto on lighting in the sink area would come on with any movement. Since there is not a door, we often would be awakened . The person on the front desk was very helpful as was the housekeeper.

The hotel was very clean and kept. Receptionist could have been more courteous and thorough at check in. He assumed we knew the ins and out of the hotels, so I had to ask him more questions. Breakfast is an extra $15. Great hotel otherwise.
