Ilio Mare Hotel

We are currently here and is our 4th visit. Is one of the "my favorite places on Earth". There is a lot of green area around the hotel & pool, the beach is amazing. The staff at the hotel and bar is great, and there is service on the beach as well. If you want to be lazy and sit all day on this beach is perfect, you have everything what you need (including great icecream & cocktails). Food is good, there are good options for childrens too (pizza, pasta, chicken). Rooms are big and i cannot say again how wonderful the beach is (and the sunsets❤️).

I arrived yesterday, and I'm in love with this hotel and the place! The staff is amazing, very positive people and always with the smile on the face! Wherever you need, just ask them! The location is very nice, peaceful and quiet, the beach is great, crystal water and nice forest around! I give them those 5 stars!

Terrible experience at this hotel. It looks like a 2-3 stars hotel, with old furniture, very old elevator, but the biggest problem is the mold and the dampness. The smell of mold is very strong, you can hardly breathe. We went to the reception to ask for another room, and the lady has refused us with a smile on her face. "We have no rooms available" she said, and that was it. We have asked to do a written complaint, but that was refused, as well. If you don't want to ruin your holiday, find a different accommodation, and avoid this hotel.

We made the reservation in the spring, directly at the hotel, following to go in August, a group of 10 adults. The price we paid for this hotel was for a 5* hotel, but when we got there we were shocked to see how it looked, the hotel shouldn't have been more than 2*. The rooms were dark, with mold on the walls, a very heavy smell due to dampness and humidity. It was not possible to put the clothes in the dresser because it smelled terribly of mold, the toilet bowl was cracked, the ceiling was crumbling due to mold, the furniture was very old and shabby. We asked to change our rooms or give our money back, but they flatly refused. Only two families managed to change rooms, because they could not stay in the room because of the smell of mold, but only after arguing continuously for two days with the hotel staff. The staff were thanking us for behaving decently as other people were yelling, threatening them, so it was clear to us that they were aware of what they were offering, but they were still promoting it as a 5* hotel, with relevant prices. The breakfast was very poor and the coffee was impossible to drink. I can consider that it was the biggest kick I have ever taken since I travel.

I stayed for 10 days together with my wife and child. I have to admit that the Thasos the island is beautiful nice, clean and green. We had good time in Thasos. However the Hotel Iliod Mare Hotel was also good Hotel the Best team was the House Keeping, our rooms got cleaned and bed covers and towels changed everyday. People worked in reception and in the Bar also very helpfull and I could observed that they were trying their best of abilities trying make their customers happy. I cannot sy the same thing for the restaurant and for the kitchen. Open buffet breakfast and dinner was soo low level food had no taste. At a Hotel In Country like Greece we would have variation of Olives or Fetta cheese because as soon as they took out from the thin they put on buffet with allot of salt anyone could have blood pressure up and they could easly die with the amount of salt in the olives and in the fetta cheese. The buffet in a such conditions of unexplained smells so it will keep away the customers. Not only this they did not serve fish disses, no Black tea and customers were not allowed to approach drinking cold water. Simply because they wanted to sell their fizzy drinks. This attitudes within Hotel and Hospitality industry is unacceptable. Most of the evening we had no choice to collect a few peaches and not to touch their foods instead we had call a taxi t goto dinner to the surrounding villages. When you want to talk soem one no managers arround and none of the employees have their badges with their names and positions , so you would now who you will be talking with. I remember very well one of the customers asked a glass of water for his child to have her tablet but a lady employee (not know the name, not know her position) argued with the customer forcing him to buy a glass of water. One customer raised his voice then she started taking personal by shouting in the restaurant saying "all of these written in your contract " at the presence of other guest. Furthermore in the seaside in the beach there is point for the lifesavers but during of 10 days we have never come a cross with a single person for a single minute. Alacard Menu for branches or as an alternative to the open buffet dinner was terribly poor and insufficient choice and members of the staff not know what they were doing there. As I said bar staff very kinds and polite trying their best but I have to say that their bar knowledge very limited, insufficient internal trainings given by the hotel managements . We paid for half board (in advance) but I don't thing we got what we paid for the breakfast and for the dinner. I will not suggest to my friends or to people I know and we will not go back to this Hotel again.
