We absolutely loved this delightful little hotel. The front reception staff were so friendly and lovely. We had a lovely room with a little balcony. The included Breakfast was over the top fantastic. Couldn't believe value for money. This place is perfectly located on the water front right opposite the ferry to take you to the beach. The beach was great. Would absolutely recommend this place. We loved Tavira and this hotel on the riverfront was perfect for us. Easy to walk from the bus station and the ferry to Tavira’s beautiful island beach is right in front. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet left is stuffed … we just needed an afternoon snack and the dinner. Our interior room was quiet, clean and comfy. Wifi worked well and we appreciated the room fridge. Terrace was a nice bonus. Our only suggestions are better room lights for reading (there was only one on one side of the bed and the overhead light was really weak) and to fix the shower so the hose actually stays up without spraying everywhere.

Tavira is beautiful and the hotel has a lovely view over the river. The people working the hotel were friendly. However, on our first day, there was no hot water in the bathroom. After complaining, I was told that it was a fault of the solar heating and that it would be fixed for our second night. The next day, it wasn’t much better and my family had to shower/wash in cold water. It seems that when the sun doesn’t shine, the water doesn’t get heated.

The hotel is in a lovely location on the river front, about 5 minutes walk from the centre of the historic town. The downside of that is reaching the hotel by car is not easy due to the no entry and one way roads. The parking is about 5 minutes away in a large public car park next to the Repsol station. This was busy in November so it must be a nightmare in peak season. The guy on reception spoke excellent English and knew about the history of the area. We had one of the cheaper rooms and when we went in to it I was tempted to just leave and go elsewhere. The room was fine - a decent size, quiet and even had double glazing. The bathroom looked like it had last been refreshed in the 70's and the shower enclosure was coated with limescale. However we persevered and, considering the price we paid, I think it was a good option. The USB charging by the bed was very useful as so many other places had a dearth of sockets. Breakfast wasn't bad either in the mornings so all in all, excellent value but be aware the decor and internal noises may be initially off putting.

If you like quaint and old fashioned but with all the modern conviences this is the place for you I know some reviews say it should be brightened up and re tiled in places but not so I feel it adds to its charm the staff here were really nice and pleasant the rooms were cleaned and towels changed every day Lots hot water great pressure in the shower beautiful roof terrace with lovely views the location excellent the breakfast was in my opinion perfectly adequate to cater for all tastes we had dinner here 2 evening and really enjoyed it but just to make people aware it is two stories we did 36 steps from our room 2nd floor to street level there is no lift so if people had mobility issues this is not the hotel for them other that that amazing ambiance really enjoyed
