We stayed in Tres Vidas apartments in June 2023 as a family of 4 with 2 young children (aged 5 and 3) If you want to read about the serious security issue - skip to the end. We arrived at the hotel (the Orquedia, which Tres Vidas is part of) late at night, and were pleased to find that they had opened the restaurant for us and put out some sandwiches, cakes, fruit etc which was welcome! Tres Vidas apartments are part of the Orqudia complex, about a 5 minute walk from the main hotel. The apartments are situated on a very steep hill, so if you have mobility issues you WILL struggle as there is no access other than stairs or a steep slope. We struggled to carry all the heavy suitcases and our 2 tired kids to our apartment - it would have been nice if the staff had offered to help or take up our bags on a trolly. Apartment/Rooms: Pros: Our apartment was very clean and a maid came to clean every other day I believe. It was well equipped - hairdryer, safe, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, glasses/plates, coffee machine and microwave. The shower was very good, the beds were very comfortable. Cons: Our children's bedroom smelt of stale cigarette smoke, there was no bottled water in our apartment (the staff has said there would be, and the shops/bars were closed). The TV signal was very poor. There were no toddler bed guards in the hotel or available to hire either which would be good as many people travel with young children and the floors are hard tile. Complex/Location If you are looking for a quieter, less busy resort then Bahia Feliz is for you. There are some nice restaurants and bars in the square outside along with several supermarkets. There is a bus stop in the resort that will take you to the busier resorts, and things like the aqua park/zoo etc. In the Orquedia complex there are three restaurants: The main buffet restaurant, the Taverna tapas restaurant (which AI guests can use once for free during their stay) and the El Sultan (A la Carte), there is also the pool bar which serves snack food (Hot dogs, toasties, nuggets, chips, jacket potatoes) during the day. Drinks can be gotten from the bar by the restaurant or pool bar (which is in the main entertainment hall for the evening too). There is a private beach for the hotel - but beware this is pebbles not sand. Unfortunately there was always a large queue of people waiting to put towels down on loungers before 8am..... We did struggle some days to get a lounger later in the day which was a shame. The pools are very good - a nice temperature and suitable for the little ones with a kids pool and splash pad. There's a really good aqua aerobics and aqua spin class if you want to get involved. Food & Drink We didn't try the two a la carte options so I can only comment on the pool bar and main restaurant. Standard AI fayre - plenty of selections of fresh salads, grilled fish/meat options daily and a few themed items daily (ie: Canarian, Mexican, Italian) - and then standard thing
