Despite instructions saying checkin started at 3, we arrived at 3 to find a sign saying reception closed at noon on Saturday & would reopen on Monday. Apparently we were supposed to have received an email giving us an entry code & a code for a lockbox with the key to the room.
A French couple had the same problem and were able to reach someone who spoke English who gave us the information we needed.
Got to the room to find that the metal ***** between the hall & the bathroom was loose with screws sticking up, the lights in the hallway & over the sink didn’t work, the small table was unstable, and dirty dishes & glassware. There was no one to talk to until Monday morning.
On Monday we complained. Receptionist was very sympathetic & helpful. She offered us free breakfast for one day, confirmed that no email was sent & apologized. We said we would prefer an upgrade to breakfast, but she said the hotel was very full & that might not be possible. She would send the technician to repair everything except the light over the sink-they were out of bulbs and couldn’t get more. As the technician was busy with emergencies,
we were ultimately given the same room on another floor where everything except the light over the sink worked, but there was a piece of broken particle board near the bathroom sink. Both rooms had a water heater above the toilet that was a hazard.
We have enjoyed other Sejours, but we would never stay here again & rec others avoid despite great location.
