"I went on a solo trip to celebrate my birthday. I really enjoyed my stay. The stuff in the entire hotel were super friendly, very respectful and ready to give assistance.Also, I really enjoyed food at the Umi restaurant… I frequently went there and was served by a waiter called Martin. He was very welcoming and warm. He made my stay much fun, plus he is very helpful in giving nice food suggestions.. I loved it all. I have no complaints about anything. I had so much fun. I’ll definitely go back to Majlis."

"The accommodation was both exquisite and enchanting. As one navigates the narrow alleyways of Shela, one continuously encounters smiles and welcoming greetings. The high walls surrounding Tulia House hide an immaculate interior that opens up into a central courtyard with a sparkling blue swimming pool. The bedrooms are large and airy, almost all with their own private balcony. The staff are extremely attentive but never underfoot. The house is centrally located and it’s a quick two minute walk to all the sights and sounds. Tulia House epitomises tranquility and relaxation."

"A fantastic hotel with lots of character located in Shela just south of Lamu. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very good. We ate there 3 nights and the food was the best we had in Kenya, a very good and long menu, catch your own fish and they will turn it into sashimi, ceviche or even a curry! Shela is a great village just outside the back of the hotel and walkable. If you want to explore Lamu town, you can get a guide from the hotel for 2,500 KSH and walk the town for 3 hours. Transfers to and from the airport included and welcome drink on arrival is refreshing after a journey. Look forward to returning to the Peponi and would highly recommend, we do wish we stayed longer once we had left!"
