"Just an amazing place We spent the week in The Den and it couldn’t have been better The location is great, a short walk to The Chine which is a great short cut to the beach. Tickets for the Chine are valid for 7 days so buy early in your stay The apartment was beautiful, clean & had everything you need Chris and Kate were the best hosts & on hand if needed The swimming pool has to be the best added extra and to be honest we could have spent the time just sat in the garden by the pool Highly recommend this beautiful place & will definitely be visiting again Thank you for having us"

Birkdale Guest House

"Just returned from a weeks stay at The Birkdale. Colin & Lesley with the help of Sarah are excellent hosts who are very accommodating and provide a lovely B&B which can only be described as up market compared to other B&Bs we've stayed at in the Shanklin area over the last 20 years or so. The breakfast choice was considerable not to mention both good quality and generous. The bedrooms are relatively spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom modern and well maintained. It's very welcoming and very conveniently located, only a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Would certainly make this a first choice for staying on the IoW again. Highly recommended. "

Westbury Lodge

"This was our second visit to Westbury Lodge B&B, Shanklin. Isle of Wight. We travelled as foot passengers on the ferry from Portsmouth to Ryde Pier Head, then caught the train to Shanklin which takes about half an hour. Westbury Lodge is about a fifteen minute walk from the station. Upon arrival we were met by hosts David & Rosemary, shown our room and then had tea and coffee in the guest lounge. We stayed in room 2 on the ground floor for the second time, which is a thumbs up to the room itself. Breakfasts were excellent, plenty of everything. During our stay we walked along the esplanade to Sandown to the north and Ventnor and Steephill Cove to the south, where they sell crab pasties in the Crab Shed. An excellent find. Another walk later in the week was along the old railway line into Wroxall. The bus service is very good and you can get anywhere on the island without using a car. There are plenty of places to eat in Shanklin and Ventnor and you are spoilt for choice, one place in particular is the Ventnor Kitchen Bistro, for something a bit different. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Westbury Lodge and will return. Terry & Linda"
