Champs Forest Resort Hotel(Shangri-La Bus Terminal)

The hotel is only 5 min walk from the bus station, which is good for morning buses. The ancient town and monastery are both appx. 30 min walk. The location is superb. The staff does not speak English but is very helpful and kind.

The room was very clean and beautifully decorated, making it a comfortable and relaxing place to rest. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. One of the best parts was the amazing view of the mountains right from the window.! The hotel is also very conveniently located, just a short walk from the bus station, which made getting around super easy.

The receptionists were very friendly and responsive. However, that’s the best thing about the hotel. Will not recommend for solo female travellers especially. The first room I was given smelled very strongly of smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. There were signs of cigarette burns on the floor between the twin beds. The staff were quick to respond when I made a complaint and gave me a new room. Although the second room was much better, there was an unopened condom on the night stand. This made me very uncomfortable as this probably meant one of two things: the room was not cleaned properly or it was left there because of the kind of clientele the hotel attracts. I was also bitten by some insects while sleeping. Since I arrived late, I decided to tough it out but left early in the morning as I felt very uncomfortable.
