Atravesado en medio de una reciente ola de calor, este hotel fue nuestro salvador después de que Campanile nos dejó bajar por segunda vez en dos días. Reservado via Booking.com en el parque de coches, y desde allí fue una vacación diferente. El check-in fue una breeze. La habitación 503 w/two single beds was spacious and had WORKING a/c, we finally sleeped and felt human again the next day. The included breakfast was all you could ask for, and delicious with it. Nos encontramos en la estación de tren, pero no hemos oído nada, y podríamos continuar nuestro viaje descansando y en un estado mucho mejor.

All the staff were exceptionally helpful The room was clean and as expected the restaurant was fully booked but they found room for us and we had a fabulous meal at a time that suited us The weather was very hot but all the rooms had been supplied with electric fans to help with that

Bien je marche avec une cane, proposition de suite ^pour m'aider au petit dej ainsi que pour la valise a la voiture en plus je suis vieux maitrise mal l'informatique dans la réservation je ne sais pas s'il y avais une option handicape. Pour moi douche glissante et un peux haute et je redis bien.

An important criterion in selecting hotels for my vacation itineraries is the hotel's having an excellent restaurant. Castellane, the ”Gastronomic French Restaurant” at Chateau Le Prieure, certainly satisfied that criterion. This allows me to enjoy an evening without having to worry about driving again. After verifying on the website that the restaurant would be open (such ”gourmet” restaurants are often closed two nights a week to give the staff a break), I booked a nonrefundable stay and requested dinner. The hotel confirmed my room reservation but told me that the restaurant was not available. I decided that I would take advantage of room service and would not request a cancellation. It turned out that Castellane was not even open. Upon leaving the hotel, I heard another guest complain to the front desk that the restaurant had been closed the evening before and was not going to be open that evening as well - a most justified complaint. And room service? The poorly staffed hotel could provide us only with a charcuterie plate or a fromage plate because the kitchen was closed. So, we sallied forth into Saumur, where I have to say that we had a surprisingly excellent dinner at L'Instinct. The hotel is understaffed. The hotel is desperately in need of some tender loving care such as repair of a window with a hole in it and remediation of the sinking floor with cracked wood that you would not want to step on with bare feet. However, WiFi access is good. The staff is friendly and hospitable. The rooms are capacious and clean (although the shower had pink mildew). The bedding is most comfortable. The lounge area with its view of the Loire is spectacular as was the morning view of the river from our room.

Teníamos altas expectativas respecto a la estancia en este hotel tan diferente y con un restaurante Michelin. Por un lado, el restaurante cierra varios días en semana por lo que sólo nos dieron la opción de adquirir una cesta de picnic por 29€/persona para comer por allí, o hacernos reserva en algún lugar externo . Por otra parte, al reservar con niños, nos dieron una habitación prefabricada en una especie de sótano que nos provocó una desilusión y donde las camareras de piso dejaban el carrito de la limpieza. En un sitio tan bonito y con vistas como las que hay incluso desde los pasillos, nos sentíamos en el trastero. La habitación, con una pequeña ventana, daba a un tejado de uralita donde depositaban la basura con el consiguiente ruido. El desayuno.... ni mencionarlo. De hecho tuvieron el detalle de no cobrarnos el de los niños. Apenas había nada. Pan, mermeladas, mantequilla, un bizcocho, yogures y zumos de bote. Ni fruta, ni bollería, ni cereales (sólo con flakes y avena), ni embutidos ni nada de nada .... una vergüenza la verdad. Jamás en todos los hoteles que he visitado hemos visto un desayuno tan pobre y exiguo. Lo mejor ha sido la visita nocturna a la Abadía, prerrogativa que tienen los huéspedes y que resultó una agradable experiencia. Lamentablemente no puedo darle más de 3 estrellas. Recomiendo menos mininalismo a la hora del desayuno y atender a las familias con niños del mismo modo que al resto de huéspedes con habitaciones más ventiladas y mejor ubicadas.

Si buscas un hotel de estilo moderno, puedes dejar de leer y ver en otro lugar. Sin embargo, si estás más en el ambiente y como edificios más antiguos, este es el lugar para permanecer. El hotel es un lugar muy encantador para permanecer en un pequeño y tranquilo pueblo.
