Amara Suites Santorini

Warm welcome, felt like we were greeted and cared for by family. The service and food was outstanding! And the pool area was serene and like an oasis. Short walk to the beach, restaurants and night life was perfect. Quick ride to Fira and Oia topped it all off. Simply an oasis in paradise. Dimitri, I’ll be back soon!!

Well I have stayed in many resorts over the years, however this tops the lot. It is a family run business and doesn't feel like a resort, it's more like a home. Dimitri and his wife are fantastic hosts. She is also a wonderful chef. On reflection there is nothing I/we could complain about. The location is superb and only 15 minutes from the airport. The restaurants are within 5 minutes walking distance. During the trip we hired a car which Dimitri organised for us and also went on a Catamaran trip to watch the sunset. The breakfast is of the highest quality and we would visit the suites again without a doubt. Thanks Dimitri to you and all your wonderful team.

There’s a reason this hotel is so highly rated and our stay here was no exception. Me and my husband stayed here for 7 nights and it was by far one of the best places we have ever been to. First off I have to make a special mention to the hotel owner, Dimitri, who is truly a delight to meet and one of the loveliest people we have ever met. From the moment of checking in to checking out Dimitri was so friendly and always made sure to greet you every day and made us feel so welcome and special. Amara contains less than 20 boutique rooms. Our room truly took our breathe away; it was so modern, beautifully decorated and stylish lights throughout with a beautiful chandelier in the middle. It had a spacious wardrobe, dressing table and large sofa. On the balcony there was a big double lounge bed which was so comfy with a big cushion to sunbathe on, but the highlight was the large jacuzzi pool which we found ourselves in the majority of the time. The room we stayed in had the sun on the jacuzzi pool all day round overlooking the hotel and main pool. Beautiful views of the mountains can be seen around the corner of our balcony. The food and breakfast was absolutely astounding. The owners wife is the chef and is very talented. Every morning we would come down for breakfast and because it’s a boutique hotel you are attended to as soon as you arrive as there are generally only one or two other families eating at one time. You are greeted straight away, fresh coffee and orange juice is served, and a couple of minutes later you are brought a HUGE platter of food straight to your table by the wonderful staff. Some of the foods included in this platter which varied everyday was a huge plate of various fruit, a bowl of delicious fresh greek yogurt with honey and walnuts, pastries, cakes, pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, and fresh bread. If you are still hungry after this huge breakfast come lunchtime Amara offers a delicious lunchtime menu. From this we tried several of the pastas which are made freshly to order and are truly delicious. Amara also offers an evening menu by the beautiful setting of the pool. Speaking of the pool, it was very specious with plenty of sun beds surrounding it to choose from. The pool also had two large lounge beds inside to relax on. It varied in height with a spacious shallow end which is ideal for toddlers and children with lovely fountains. If you fancied a change of scenery, Kamari beach and restaurant ***** is just a couple of minutes walk down the road. It offers a large choice of restaurants and sun beds to choose from, and is a beautiful setting at evening time to walk along with a busy nightlife. Amara suites is far enough though from the ***** so this cannot be heard at all. During our stay we got married in Santorini and Dimitri was so welcoming and friendly and allowed me to have a couple of family members and hair stylist over in the morning to get ready and allowed me to have pictures around the hotel afterwards. My wife and I had one of the most relaxing weeks away ever at this hotel. The food is unbelievable all fresh and homemade Dimitri and his lovely family who own and run this hotel are what makes this place special. The rooms are comfortable and the pool area is very lovely We would return and recommend

This was our 3rd year in a row to stay with the wonderful people at Amara Suites. We love this place and have already booked it again for 2024. It is located just a few minutes walk to the beach. Lots of food/drinks/coffee/shopping nearby. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Beds & pillows are also very nice. The pool is lovely and never feels too crowded. The food is probably some of the best in Santorini, honestly. You will feel like part of the family while staying here. Everyone is so friendly & kind. I would give them 10 Stars!!!

Amara Suites and the Family that owns the place are lovely, they make all kind of efforts to make you feel good, like in your own place. We were a whole family of 11 people and had a great great time. The only point they could do better is the bar, the cocktails have room to improve, but everything else, everything is just perfect.

Hotel at the top, welcoming and benevolent staff with their customers. Bonus on the breakfast which wakes you up gently and is home made. The rooms are incredible, clean and neat! The family that runs this hotel is very attentive, advises you on the best places and is always ready to listen. I highly recommend a stay here, you will feel at home

We stayed for a week at Amara Suites with 2 teenagers. The rooms are great and the location is ideal. We took the bus to Fira almost every day. We took the water taxi to Perivolos. The Kamari Beach is a 3 minute walk with tons of restaurants. But, the best part of staying at Amara was the family atmosphere. Dimi is the host and takes care of everything. When our luggage was lost, he drove us into town in his own car and dropped us at a store to buy necessities. He sat down with us and helped us plan our days. He hung out with us at night and we drank his wine, which was excellent. He only sells it at Amara. Eleni, his wife, is probably the best cook on the island. Her breakfasts were amazing. On the final night, my wife mentioned how she hadn’t had spanikopita. So, Eleni made it for breakfast. It was the best! They made us fresh lobster, salmon, sea bass, shrimp, pizza, pasta and many other maxing dishes. Their son, George, made great cocktails. We felt like we were staying with family. We did hikes, jet ski safaris, catamaran cruises, food tours and wine tours during the days/evening. But, every night it was nice to come home to Amara. We can’t wait to stay again.

My fiancé and I ended up last minute booking (hours before our arrival) at Amara after a terrible experience elsewhere in Santorini. We arrived exhausted and very early in the morning. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left Dimitri and his family and staff could not have been more accommodating. Dimitri had a breakfast platter prepared for us while we waited for our room (which they had ready for us shortly after we arrived). Everything about this hotel is amazing. The food is fantastic, cocktails are delicious and the rooms and pool area were so beautiful. We could not recommend Amara more. Dimitri and his lovely daughter also helped us to organise an amazing sunset cruise and to rent quad bikes etc. They were always so willing to help. It was the most wonderful end to our Europe trip!
