"I stayed at the Premier Inn City Centre on November 16, 2025, and was completely satisfied. I paid on-site with my Platinum corporate Mastercard. On December 23, 2025, I wanted to stay there again and called the hotel around 9 p.m. No problem, the room was available, I could arrive whenever I wanted, and the reception was staffed. Due to the weather, I didn't arrive at the hotel until around 1:30 a.m. on December 24, 2025. There, I was refused entry, told I should have booked online, and that they didn't accept my Mastercard, the same one I had used without any problems before. They said it had to be an embossed credit card with the clear "credit" logo; otherwise, the card wasn't accepted as payment. I mentioned my stay four weeks prior and the use of the same card... no chance, his bosses forbid him from accepting these worthless cards. I told him he could charge me 2,000, 3,000, or even 5,000 euros, but I just wanted to go to my own bed. No chance... So, on Christmas morning, completely exhausted, I went looking for a room in a strange city... I really find this outrageous. I hadn't done anything wrong, and the "Mercure" hotel next door accepted my company card without any problems."

We had a nice 'house beer' in the bar too. Was very quiet when we stayed. Town centre is a short walk (not for elderly or disabled though) and is a fabulous town centre to visit. Plenty of bars and restaurants in town and on the riverfront."

"Me and another 5 friends stayed there on April 4 2012. What can I say, it shows a 2 star hotel at the entrance but let me tell you, I have been many places and usually a 2 star is a 2 star, but for this one in particular the stars do not make justice! It is impeccable, looks and must be new, it is extremely clean and modern throughout, starting from the rooms and all the way down to the dining area, very modern indeed. Location is great, downtown, across the street from the Townhall and municipal parking, step to Obertoberstrase plaza and market, the place to shop and eat. Great location and priced accordingly, €78/ night plus €78 for what they call "Bio" breakfast...all "Organic" for the North Americans. Amazing food and variety. Tasty and plenty! Fully recommended!"

"The thing that lets this hotel down is the instructions to drive to it which have not improved since the last review 10 years ago. Google does not work and the Hôtel instructions do not start early enough. We drove round and round and had to park and walk on foot. Then the lift to the underground carpark didn’t work. Basically after 5 minutes it had not arrived so had to lug cases up stairs whereupon the lift was still not working. Pictures misleading. No view of river. However clean, comfy bed, good shower and good breakfast"
