Sylvette (the owner) was kind enough to wait for me after a late arrival due to flight delays, but it is important to communicate with the hotel if you’re going to be late as the reception closes at 8pm (it’s a quiet, isolated and sleepy little town). All in all, great experience with very friendly, laid-back but courteous service. Many public amenities and facilities located within walking distance from the hotel and staff are happy to recommend them."

"We booked this hotel for our last day at the meeting. The staff is very welcoming, the room and the rest of the hotel are impeccable. We arrived at 10 AM as the room was ready so we were able to have it instead of 2 PM. The pool is much nicer than in this photo. In the evening we were able to eat our pizza on the terrace. We had a shuttle at 4 AM, the driver was there before time, which saved us stress."

"Passage in this charming hotel for a night in a family room with my son and my wife. First, we arrive in the entrance hall furnished in the old style, which gives a real cachet to this establishment. Our welcome was warm and fast, with the manager who had a nice smile. She also had little attentions throughout the stay and I thank her again for these. For the room, it was clean, well laid out and equipped with a kitchenette. If you don't want to cook, the hotel is close to many restaurants, snacks and others. There is even a small supermarket. And the beach is a 5-minute walk away. So, very positive opinion for me and my family for this stay."

"The hotel is a beautiful location, with a spacious swimming pool and a glass restaurant with a view of the ocean. The contrast between this luxury hotel and its integration in the heart of the natural savannah is a spacious and soundproofed room. The cocktails are successful and the breakfast is very tasty, with a special mention for omelet. We were rather disappointed by the experience of restaurant during the dinner. The Iberian pig coast, simply snacked and missing flavor, was not at the expected height. The dishes are, however, copiel and the overall experience, recommended."

"We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights on holiday. The hotel is listed as a 3-star hotel, but many facilities (safe, fridge, magnifying mirror, Nespresso machine, two pools, two restaurants, etc.) are more characteristic of 4-star hotels. The same is true for breakfast, which was generous and good. The hotel is located at the outskirts of St. Leu, on a hill that is overlooking a very nice view of the sea, whales included. We had a car and therefore could travel easily, recommended at this location. Ample parking, also near our room which was relatively far from the reception. A lovely garden and pleasant common areas. Our room (Guétali) was large and comfortable, and housekeeping was good. Good beds. The bathroom was large, though it suffered from a shallow sink in which the tap was located too much to the back, something that caused constant water spillage. Service was excellent everywhere throughout our stay, with special thanks to the reception and restaurant staff. We tried to drive to St. Leu for dinner, but a traffic jam and total lack of parking led us to abandon this idea after one try. We consequently ate at the hotel’s Kotémer restaurant (see separate review). A concert of Creole music and dance on one of the evenings was very enjoyable. The most evident weakness of this hotel is the (lack of) wi-fi. While this worked reasonably well at the reception and the restaurants, we had zero reception at our room, on laptop, tablet, and phones. I use a laptop for both work and entertainment, and therefore had to sit at the reception whenever I needed the internet. The phones could be used at the room using mobile data, but this consumed a considerable amount of our monthly allocation. Overall, a very positive experience if one accepts the internet limitation, recommended while staying on Reunion Island."
