Hoteles cerca del Minibibliotek and Street library, Reine

En agosto, me quedé con mi novia en este pequeño hotel en la hermosa Reine. Nos sorprendió cómo sería el lugar: comenzando con yoga de la mañana, buenas instalaciones de cocina y una luminosa habitación frente al mar. No obstante, he dejado algunos vestidos por error y he pasado un mes tratando de conseguir que el hotel los envíe de vuelta a mí. Esto me recuerda que cuando ibamos allí también tuvimos la experiencia de no recibir respuestas a nuestros mensajes. No sé cómo una instalación turística puede funcionar con esas comunicaciones pobres. Es una vergüenza que el tiempo ya está un poco despilfarrado.

Ours was that historic rorbuer that is in zillions of marketing brochures for the Lofoten Islands (it was the main picture in our Oslo Airport hotel later!). Although crowded with new buildings to maximize their space, it was nonetheless really fun to be right on the water (we had fighting gulls outside on the deck at 12:30am...!) and we could hear the water lapping underneath our two-person cottage. Only problem: the roof made loud tapping noises in high winds = disrupted sleep. And the couch we had to move to use the Murphy bed was VERY heavy. Also, the person in the Murphy bed couldn't get the room dark (and it was fulltime light in mid-June) due to there being no coverings for the high windows. Otherwise, the unit was very clean, well stocked, nicely decorated, with a killer view outside.

La inspección de la temporada de salida es todo a través de una caja de gotas. No vio a una persona real. La habitación doble era minimalista y no super agradable, pero era cómoda. Los baños compartidos son realmente bastante agradables. Nice bien almacenada cocina. Buen lugar en la ciudad

Abbiamo prenotato un lodge per una notte tramite booking. Non abbiamo ricevuto nessuna istruzione per la consegna del lodge e quando siamo arrivati in reception non c'era nessuno ad accoglierci. Abbiamo dovuto chiamare il proprietario che ci ha spiegato a distanza come accedere al lodge. Il lodge era molto grande con una bella vista sul mare ma allo stesso tempo molto freddo e inospitale. I vetri dell sala erano totalmente sporchi e unti per non parlare del termosifone arrugginito e marrone dallo sporco per non parlare del frigorifero che aveva macchie di unto e cibo nei ripiani. Il letto wra totalmente da fare con lenzuola appoggiate in una busta dell'ikea sul pavimento. la camera da letto aveva le pareti sporche e i peli o capelli nel letto. Non ce la siamo sentiti di rimanere, ce ne siamo andati avvisando il proprietario del motivo della nostra fuga. Ovviamente avendo già pagato non ci ha dato nessun rimborso perché non gli abbiamo dato la possibilità di rimediare ma, vedendo lo stato di tutti gli altri lodge abbiamo preferito andarcene. La cosa ben peggiore è stata che ha comunicato a booking la nostra mancata presentazione per non permetterci di apporre una recensione negativa come gli avevamo anticipato e questo è anche totalmente disonesto.

Having heard many great things about this resort and also seeing it on the British TV show 'amazing hotels' we had high expectations... the interior of the cabins is authentic and well finished but for us this was where the positives mostly stopped. There are a few cabins on the waterfront (at a premium) that do appear to offer a more private relaxing experience but for the rest it isn't the case. The resort is open to tourists throughout the day, so there is zero privacy as commented on by other guests. People constantly walking passed your windows and taking photos - making it feel like you are almost staying in a zoo with no barrier between guests and other tourists, bear in mind this is in Winter so I can't imagine how busy it must be in Summer. On top of this, the view of a tractor and constant builders vans (site expanding) from your cabin again doesn't exactly add to the relaxing, authentic feel. Restaurant is average at best, although breakfast was quite a good selection Overall it does unfortunately feel like what was once an authentic, relaxing place to stay, has become an expensive greedy tourist trap.
