Aunque al principio parece que no es fácil llegar porque Waze y Googlemaps tienen un error, luego te das cuenta de que estás en el lugar ideal. Estas a media hora de los templos de Agrigento y a quince minutos de la Scala dei Turchi, los dos lugares que no se pueden dejar de visitar en Sicilia. El alma de Casa Balata es Daniela, su dueña. Ella está atenta a todo y es cálida, habla varios idiomas organiza todo allí. La cena en Casa Balata es muy recomendable: típicamente Siciliana y con productos de estación. El desayuno es bueno y se toma en una galería con una posición privilegiada. Para volver.

I would highly recommend Casa Balata. It was a real treat to stay in such beautiful surroundings: grounds, gardens, guest rooms and the villa itself were beyond charming…..did I forget the pool, stunning!! But beyond the beauty of the place was Daniella and her “nephew” were so kind, helpful and welcoming. It was a package deal which made our Sicily trip beyond special. Thank you Daniella Ps we did contact Daniella prior to arrival to get directions. With her directions we had no problems. Susan and Blake Lindskog

Casa Balata was the best hotel my wife and I have experienced while visiting more than 20 countries on four continents over our combined 130 years. The accommodations were lovely, the food great, and the proprietor, Daniela, delightful, and informative. Don't miss it if you plan to visit the Agrigento region of Sicily.

A beautiful villa in the countryside near agrigento! It was a relaxing respite from the busy-ness of the city. Its proximity to the valley of the temples, Scalia del turchi and the beach was great! Daniella serves a beautiful breakfast and dinner is available if desired. I would highly recommend!

What a gorgeous place to stay, relax and eat. Only a half hour from the temples but a magical distance from the city. Beautiful gardens, salt water pool, lovely house and rooms, and delicious local food and wine. What’s not to love? And all home grown olive oil

Such a nice place hidden in the mountains overlooking the see at Realmonte. Just 5 minutes up a small road from the main road connecting Agrigent and Selinunte. A very nice pool in a very nice garden. Nice style furniture. Also: real sicilian food - try it and love it!

Daniela, the proprietor of Casa Balata and her stellar staff made our stay such a pleasant one. Breakfast and/or dinner with other guests was always interesting and lively conversation which gave us a sense of feeling at home. If you are an early bird, catching the sunrise over the saltwater pool is stunning. If you are planning on spending time in Sicily, I’d recommend making Casa Balata your home base and day trip from there. Thank you, again, Daniela! We miss you and hope to see you again sooner than later.

I spent a wonderful three nights at Casa Balata while visiting Agrigento and the ruins. The scenic countryside setting is spectacular with long distance views to the sea and colorful sunsets. Daniella the owner and her staff are warm and welcoming, and they treat guests like longtime friends. I loved my spacious room with its private terrace. Breakfasts are ample and dinners are Sicilian home comfort food. Staying at such a lovely place is absolutely worth the short drive into Agrigento and Valley of the Temples. Do not pay attention to the review that says a four-wheel drive is more suitable for the road to Casa Balata. It’s a Sicilian country road and all the guests when I was there did just fine with rental cars.

The location, high in the mountain, has spectacular views, and is a beautiful, well-manicured site. The host, Danielle, is extremely gracious and helpful. Now the BUTS... 1) The location is nowhere near the Temple sites or Agrigento. It is a 30 minute drive. 2) The house is extremely hard to find, even with GPS maps. Yes, we were told to ignore Apple Maps, and given road directions, but for a first time visitor that is not that helpful or easy. 3)The road leading to the house is a very bad rocky, long winding road up the mountain. The road is appropriate for a 4x4, not a car rental. 4) Very spotty Wi-Fi. We were trying to communicate with hotels and tour guides making plans for the rest of our trip. It was impossible. In this day and age, not having reliable Wi-Fi is unacceptable. 5) The house where we stayed was very dark, with very poor lighting.
