Albergue de Prioro

Cristina operates an inviting, clean and warm albergue in the gorgeous village of Prioro, Spain. I stayed here one night while on the GR1 Sendero Historico trail and could not have asked for more as a trekker. The albergue is modern, clean and tastefully decorated to be inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Cristina is a delightful host, easy, charming reflecting the warmth of her fellow villagers. I tried to do yoga in the afternoon, yet the village dogs became quite curious and too inquisitive to leave me alone. Friendly and inquisitive. Top marks for her cooking - she made for me a healthy and fresh pumpkin soup that i devoured, followed by healthy, fresh vegetable filled pastry - and she has the beer or wine to accompany the dish. Thankfully too I could eat at 7pm. Clearly she has invested alot of financial capital to make her albergue warm, and inviting. Next door is a bakery too that opens at 9am. Bathrooms are modern with plenty of hot water pressure when showering. A single room with dinner, a few beers and coffee was great value, in fact I thought cheap compared to what other equivalent hotels / albergues are charging. All and more that I could ask for. I congratulate her efforts and persistence.
