"Este hotel es un complejo de vacaciones en el pueblo de Sao Roque en la isla de Pico. Mi habitación estaba bien con una suite en suite y con cocina compartida y una zona de comedor justo al lado del corredor. Hay una piscina al aire libre, pero no hay recepción 24-hour. No me gustaría quedarme aquí sin coche, ya que el transporte público es prácticamente inexistente y que no hay mucho que hacer en el pueblo."

"I was a little disappointed that this is not, in fact, a hotel. I think I might have been the only person staying there, I didn't see anyone else except for about 2 seconds in the breakfast room. The only contact I had was by email, and all the instructions were only sent the morning I was traveling, so I didn't receive them until I got to Pico. The room was comfortable enough and very clean. But lots of things are dated. The internet was non-existent. The air conditioner and bathroom fan were both ancient and made a lot of noise. The breakfast was only meh, but the view from the breakfast room was lovely. The location is good, close to town and in a quiet area. I didn't spend much time at the hotel and it was too cold for a swim, but I imagine that would be great when the weather is warmer as the pool also has an amazing view. It's worth it for the price."

"Really this is a 3.5* review. This is a good choice that has the potential to be great. The owners need to figure out what they want this place to be and plan accordingly. The area is really nice. It's out of the way without being too remote. There is an easy to use parking area just off the road. We had a second floor sea view room. The room itself was nice. There were however some flaws. There was little ventilation with the doors closed. Also, when it rained, water seemed to leak in through every door and window, making it impossible to feel dry. My number one complaint is that there was no fridge in the room. Pico makes some of the best white wines in the world, and to have a balcony with an ocean view makes sipping wine the most natural pastime. The fact that there's nowhere to chill wine is inexplicable. I can understand not wanting to promote a party atmosphere, but I consider access to a fridge to be a basic requirement. The breakfast was fine, but bordered on basic. Perhaps another fresh element would elevate it. There are some fine restaurants nearby and a good grocery store only five minutes drive away. Truthfully, I would stay here again, but I think the owners are missing a golden opportunity to create something sensational."

"Camas duras pero por lo demás una experiencia fantástica. El hotel es una serie de cabañas junto al océano y tiene un aire de ensueño. Parece sacado del hobbit. Los senderos serpentean alrededor de las instalaciones y descubren pequeños rincones para relajarse o leer. Otros caminos le llevarán a lo largo del océano hasta la piscina y la sauna. Mi esposa dijo que volvería para quedarse y relajarse unos días. Nuestra habitación, la número 1, tenía un dormitorio principal y una sala de estar independiente con una cama para nuestro tercer viajero. Mis viajeros seguían repitiendo... "qué adorable" y "qué lindo es esto". El restaurante era muy bueno y comimos allí dos veces, probando diferentes comidas, como la pasta con tocino y jamón, código y pulpo al horno y atún al horno... todos los cuales eran lo suficientemente grandes para compartir. Disfrutamos muchísimo de nuestra visita y si volvemos a Pico, nos aseguraremos de volver a alojarnos allí."

"El sábado después de la tarde en la terraza del Club Marítimo con amigos, decidí quedarme por la noche, pero ¿dónde dormir? Un de mis amigos me dijo que se ocupar de esto y aquí viene un coche amarillo una hora más tarde ... llegado noche por lo tanto en una agradable habitación con altos techos como en casa ... un buen baño caliente o me acostaba luego pijama y la cama ¡A las 6:30 de la noche del día, en el mar, me quedé 3 noches de la noche!"

"We spent 3 nights ar Casa da Vinha. It is a chrming old wine house that has been converted into a rental property. It has all the amenities you require. Great for 2 people. The management are lovely and supplied basket with bread, jam and tea Being a stone house it does get chilly but they supply a heater for the kitchen and there is some type of wood pellet burning stove in the bedroom upstairs. We did not use that. There is also an air conditioner in the bedroom. We had a lovely time there but I must advise the the house does have a musty smell I suspect that there is nothing that can be done about that. The views from the back yard are amazing"

"A veces el personal era muy amable y servicial y a veces rígido y grosero. No hay cocina ni refrigerador para acomodar a los clientes. Los dormitorios son muy pequeños y las camas ruidosas. De 6 camas, las dos del centro no tienen enchufe ni luz. No se proporcionan toallas ni jabón. Los servicios sanitarios están lejos de los dormitorios. El inodoro goteaba y siempre había agua en el suelo. ¡Peligro de resbalarse! No hay aire acondicionado, ni ventilador y los armarios no están cerrados con llave. Debes traer tu propio candado. Para terminar con una nota positiva, estaba limpio y la arquitectura de este antiguo edificio es magnífica."

"The greatest plus is that it was absolutely clean, breakfast quite basic but enough, the breakfast room is also.some basic and it does quite uncomfortable. It's a pity that the owner/ operator remains invisible during the stay. You check in automatically and, when you leave, you pull the door behind you closely - efficiently but rather inpersonally. You see a lady preparing breakfast and cleaning the general rooms all weeks but that's it."

"It was great to come “home” to our very spacious 2 bedroom cottage after a day of activities. It’s in a nice quiet area (about a 25 minute drive from Madalena). Breakfast daily is fresh bread, cheese, granola, juice and fruit (e.g., melon, kiwi, oranges), brought to the cottage by the hosts. Full kitchen. Washing machine in the unit. Must hang stuff to dry. There is a hot tub on site that I’d describe as a warm tub. Only reason not to stay here is if you want to be closer to Madalena."
