First of all, I overpaid for our stay at Admiral Suites. It was not worth half of what I paid. We were in town for a graduation. I was urged to book a hotel months before, so I did. I had to pre-pay, non-refundable, and booked two nights. Thankfully, we stayed only one. The hotel was under renovation. I'll give them a slight break on that front, though I've been in hotels that were under renovation before and this was haphazard more than by blocks of rooms.
The floors in our room were filthy. It felt like they had not been cleaned in weeks if not months. The linens were dingy. The beds were acceptable. We actually switched rooms because the prior room did not have a working lamp and the sofa bed was not made up for our stay. The double room we had, though it had a kitchenette, did not have glasses, utensils, or paper towels. Not a big deal because we were eating out with family, but notable.
Service at check-in was mixed. The guy managing the counter seemed lost. A guy who managed maintenance ended up resolving our check-in. For check-out, after waiting for 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk (after pressing a buzzer multiple times), I threw the key on the counter.
Avoid this hotel. It's not economical and therefore not even a good buy on that front. I was going to try to go to another neighboring hotel, but my wife convinced me that it was only one night and we could certainly rough it with the boys.
