The service at Sala Lodges was commendable, embodying the true spirit of hospitality. The staff were attentive, approachable, and consistently willing to assist us in organizing our trips around Siem Reap, making the overall experience hassle-free and enjoyable. A special shoutout to the Swiss owners who were genuinely amiable and made us feel warmly welcomed.
As for the accommodations, the rooms in Sala Lodges were a delightful surprise. Each room bore discrete charm with its tasteful decoration, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary elements. The authentic Khmer old houses are full of charm, yet modern and well preserved.
The hotel’s kitchen offered a menu that might seem simple at a glance but was satisfyingly delightful upon tasting. Every dish we tried was prepared well, with fresh ingredients and flavors that are comforting yet exciting to the palate. The breakfast, in particular, deserves an extra note of praise for being consistently good, providing a delightful start to our days of exploration.
Adding to the hotel’s allure was the inviting swimming pool, serving as a refreshing sanctuary after a day of touring the magical temples and vibrant markets of Siem Reap. During the wet season, the atmosphere around Sala Lodges was even more calming and soothing, with the soft sound of rain providing a comforting backdrop to our stay.
To sum it up, our experience at Sala Lodges was nothing short of magical. From the excellent service to the beautifully appointed rooms and delightful meals, every aspect of the hotel contributed to a stay that was serene, comfortable, and absolutely enjoyable. Whether you’re traveling in the wet season or not, Sala Lodges offers a cosy retreat that will surely enhance your Siem Reap adventure. Highly recommended!

Luna siempre recordaba el nombre de cada persona y siempre la veía sonreír cada vez que regresaba al hotel.
-¡Una experiencia de hotel de cinco estrellas con súper rentabilidad! La atención se nota en cada detalle.
-Se le proporcionará una bebida de bienvenida (Virgin Colada) y maní picante al registrarse, y también habrá una pequeña tarjeta en el sobre con frases locales simples.
-El aceite esencial de limoncillo fresco de la habitación huele muy bien y la bañera está situada de forma exclusiva junto a la cama.
-Los jardines están bien cuidados, el bar de la piscina es interesante y los asientos están colocados en el agua.
-El restaurante tiene comida local muy auténtica, exquisitamente preparada. Combinado con el descuento de restaurante que se otorga al hacer el check-in, es muy rentable. El servicio de camareros es atento y atento.

Olvidé tomar fotos, pero la habitación era grande y las instalaciones estaban completas.

UUsuario invitadoWe were welcomed with complimentary juice and snacks upon arriving at the hotel. They had a scent reminiscent of Cambodia and were delicious. The room was cozy and comfortable. The hotel offered a variety of tours, which could be booked at the front desk by the day before, making it very convenient.
We joined two tours arranged by the hotel, and both were fantastic. The price was also reasonable. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the services and the cost.

Rrui5En general, alojarse aquí es bastante limpio y se siente como unas vacaciones. El hotel tiene un ambiente muy bueno, con piscina y bañera en la habitación. Solo estuvimos tres días en Angkor, y el último día pudimos experimentar una habitación con piscina privada, ¡lo cual fue genial!
El personal del hotel no habla chino y se comunica en inglés.
El hotel es muy ecológico. Hay muchos pequeños gecos blancos en la pared y muchas ranas pequeñas en el suelo. Cuando regresé por la noche, los pasillos estaban llenos de ranas descansando y saltando, todas eran grandes. bastante lindo. Los niños pueden intentar verlo. No he visto un gecko en mucho, mucho tiempo. La variedad aquí es blanca. Quiero tenerlo como mascota en casa.
Para ver el amanecer y el atardecer, fuimos al templo Preah Vihear y Konkai, que están relativamente lejos. Básicamente, pasamos la mayor parte del tiempo en los lugares pintorescos y no pudimos reducir la velocidad y disfrutar del ambiente del hotel. Para ver el amanecer en Angkor Wat, si sales a las 4:30 de la mañana, puedes reservar un desayuno para llevar en el hotel la noche anterior y recogerlo en la recepción al salir. Cuando vayas a la ciudad u otros lugares, puedes pedir en recepción que te ayuden a llamar un taxi. El precio es un poco más económico que llamar un taxi online a través de nuestro propio teléfono móvil. Agregue WeChat en la recepción y vaya al mercado nocturno cercano. El hotel ofrece servicio de recogida gratuito. Puede comunicarse con WeChat para hacer una reserva con 15 minutos de anticipación. Nos alojamos aquí por tres noches. El servicio del hotel es amable y el desayuno está empacado y listo todos los días, lo que ahorra tiempo de viaje.
En Angkor hace tanto calor que mi ropa está mojada de sudor todos los días. Sería perfecto si el hotel pudiera proporcionar una sencilla zona de lavandería gratuita.

UUsuario invitadoJust perfect, from A to Z. The kind of hotel you would recommend to anyone and the kind of hotel you would come back with no hesitation. Beside the great infrastructure, the staff is just so professional and so kind. They are full of great advise, they anticipate your needs, they go the extra miles. The restaurant (we experienced breakfast and dinner) is delicious. Everything is home made (jam, sorbet,…), tasty, well seasoned. Rare to mention, we haven’t been able to find any downside. Last but not least, price are reasonable for this level of comfort and this level of service. In a nutshell, we highly recommend this boutique luxury hotel (only 25+ rooms), a true hidden gem.

KKSea 14-Star Luxury Hotel for the Backpacker Price of $40/night!
The first thing you notice about Sokha Palace Siem Reap Hotel is just how pretty it is! The architect, painters, decorators and maintenance staff did a fabulous job (see my photos). The second thing you notice is how delicious the huge buffet is – including free espresso drinks. Third, you notice that the rooms are not only nice but that everything works well (aircon, hot water showers, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV with news channels from a half dozen countries like CNN). Fourth, it is in a quiet location less than 15 minutes from Angkor Wat, and only a $2 tuktuk ride to Pub Street or anywhere else in Siem Reap.
But then you notice the best part: the outstanding hotel staff. For example, the Front Desk Manager Phyrun personally helped me when I could not make my room keycard work, and even brought me a bucket of ice. Originally I booked five nights during Chinese New Year with Trip.com discounts for $39/night, but he gave me a free upgrade from a garden view double with king bed to a pool view room. I liked it so much I wanted to extend, but the best I could find online was $41/night garden view, $51 for pool view. I asked Phyrun if I could get the upgrade again if I bought the $41 online, and he said no – but he smiled and said he would give it to me for $40/night the Khmer rate instead (normally $50 for barangs like me)!
The restaurant had other examples of great staff. Some days the restaurant is overflowing with several hundred guests, other days only a few dozen. Yet they maintain the quality and personal touch from the egg and soup station, to the bountiful buffet, to the waiters and waitresses that clear the tables. The Restaurant Manager Somedy and his Assistant Manager Chhaiya keep it all flowing smoothly. Even on the busiest day, waitress Chanthla took the time to show my Khmer friend’s elderly stepmom the way they fold the napkins. Today the espresso machine was not working for a while, so Chhaiya offered to have a waiter drive over to the sister hotel to bring me lattes. I repeatedly declined, but was very impressed by the excellent customer service attitude.
So the real beauty of this French chateau style hotel is its employees, including very efficient housekeeping and grounds staff. I checked out the “5-Star” Sokha Resort on the other side of its convention center, but did not like it half as much (especially for 70% more per night). Normally I would be afraid to write a review of a hotel that I like so much, but with 456 rooms I don’t have to worry about it being full. Do yourself a favor and stay here when in Siem Reap.

HHumphrey JrThe hotel was pretty nice for the affordable price. The service was good, both receptionists were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. The location was pretty convenient to visit the city center and night markets. There are a lot of bars and restaurants along the street, we really enjoyed that. Our room was on the first floor so it was a bit noisy in the mornings because other guests came to have breakfast at the lobby which was also on the same floor and a few meters from our room. Despite that, everything was very good.
