Just wanna share my experience of staying in this beautiful hotel. 1- The location and the views from the hotel are just amazing! Especially during sunsets! 2- The personal and stuff of the hotel are super super friendly, if I could I would give 10 stars for the hospitality. 3- Onsens and the view are something out from this world 4- What I was really amazed is the kitchen and the chef that is cooking. If you stay in this hotel I highly recommend take the breakfast and dinners. You will have a high class food with a presentation and explanation of each dish by the servant. Best experience 5- Last but not the least I forgot my speaker in the hotel. The stuff brought it back the same day to me to another hotel I moved after NISHIHOPPO. So guys, less words more actions! 10 stars to this amazing hotel and it’s owner. My respect.

La experiencia fue maravillosa! La casera era super atenta y cercana, nos ayudó a instalarnos y nos explicó cómo funcionaba la ciudad onsen e incluso nos regaló unas frutas al marchar. Las habitaciones eran amplias y muy cómodas, el onsen propio del ryokan nos pareció de los mejores de la zona y además teníamos leche gratis cerca de recepción. La reserva incluía desayuno gratuito y la verdad es que estaba delicioso. Era un desayuno tradicional japonés y nos encantó la experiencia, aunque a nuestro parecer lo servía muy pronto, a las 7:30 o a las 8:00. En general una de las mejores experiencias que tuvimos en Japón en cuanto a alojamiento.

Wow, what a magnificent place, we really loved our stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. The photos do not do the place justice at all. Our room was spacious and cozy and had a toilet. Our bed was prepared for us when we went out for evening meal. Coffee and tea making facilities were provided. We were privided yutakas for our stay. The hosts are so helpful and friendly. We added breakfast to our stay, and it was superbly prepared in a private dining area for us to enjoy The location was convenient, easy walking to the town and to the ski gondola. We used the private and public ensens at Sumiyosa, both were immaculate with toiletries provided. The public onsen definitely felt hotter than the private ensen, but both were so relaxing. I would love to stay here again.

Un hotel muy viejo y maloliente. El edificio es muy viejo. El único olor agradable provenía de recepción. Al llegar a nuestra planta, el olor era simplemente horrible, como a ropa vieja. La habitación era enorme, pero por lo demás inservible. El baño era viejo, y tanto el baño como la ducha eran una pesadilla. Los muebles junto a la ventana eran tan viejos que se podían encontrar mejores en la basura. Abrimos el armario y olía tan mal que quería salir corriendo de allí sin mirar atrás, y por eso, el precio empezó en 200 $ y fue subiendo. ¿En serio ofrecen esto a la gente? Intentamos reservar el desayuno anoche, pero se negaron, diciendo que no había sitio. Llegamos por la mañana y había dos personas desayunando, pero no había sitio para nosotros dos. ¡Menudo chiste! Además, nos llevaron al parque de los monos y luego a la estación de tren. Gracias. Conclusión: Ni siquiera con anestesia general deberían alojarse aquí. ¡Derribar el edificio hasta sus cimientos y construir uno nuevo!

From the moment you enter Kokuya Ryokan, be prepared to leave the real world behind and fully immerse yourself in the experience. You swap your shoes for slippers at the door and don’t see them again until you leave. You will receive a warm welcome from polite and gentle-mannered staff, get taken up to your beautiful room, and once you’ve changed into your traditional yukata, it’s time to let the relaxation begin. The multi-course dinner will probably be one of the best meals you’ve had in your life, with many unusual textures and flavors to try. The futons are comfortable, and your room is kept toasty warm. There are even skincare products to keep you pampered and moisturized between soaks in the onsen. Honestly, you won’t even need to open your suitcase while you’re there. The staff will take you through all the logistics when you arrive, but there are some things that might be useful to know in advance. - The ryokan sends a shuttle to Yudanaka station at about 15:00 to collect new arrivals, so time your journey to take advantage of this benefit. - The ryokan also offers guests the opportunity to catch a shuttle to the Snow Monkey Park immediately after breakfast the next morning. - After you leave the ryokan, they will take your luggage down to the coffee shop opposite the station, so you don’t need to worry about those logistics. - Trains from Yudanaka back to Nagano leave at 12:30 and 15:30. - The ryokan itself has several private onsens that you can reserve for a 45-minute slot. Because the onsens are on the property, you can go in with your partner or travel companions regardless of gender. It’s a boutique hotel, so you don’t have to worry about not getting access to all the onsens you want. - The ryokan is on the main road of the Shibu Onsen town. The hotel will give you a key so you can wonder down the main road, visiting any of the public onsens you wish - however, with so many gorgeous and more private onsens in the hotel itself, you probably won’t have time or the desire for this. - Also, there is a coffee machine in the room! (I was worried about having to survive without coffee, and this turned out to be an unfounded concern). We had an incredible and totally indulgent time at Kokuya. Experiencing a traditional ryokan is a privilege that you should try at least once if you can. And adding the Snow Monkeys in give the trip a double purpose, making it that much more memorable. The only thing that would have made the trip better is if we had been allowed to linger longer over every course of our dinner.

It's a 10 mins walk uphill from train station so maybe better to try to contact them for a complimentary pick up. The place is super grand and 2 onsens. A Instagram worthy one that the males and females get to use it at different timings. The shower stuff in the onsen are mediocre though. No fancy facial stuff for women unlike some other onsens at this price range. We had breakfast and dinner for the 2 nights. And well worth it. But you have to follow a fixed timing and we felt a bit rushed but otherwise it was really great and service perfect. We had one the biggest rooms I believe Room 716. Had a sitting area and also a sleeping area. Easily fits 8 persons. We were only 2. In the day they kept the futons and brought it out at night. Towels changed every night. There is a van that goes straight to Mount Yokoteyama ski resort. The receptionist didn't seem to know about it but you could try to Google. It was a complimentary ride to and fro if you bought the lift tickets. Took only like 30 mins to get there. You can get rentals at hotels there.

Vi muchas parejas japonesas mayores, grupos de amigas y muchos estudiantes que venían aquí a jugar juntos. El hotel es muy antiguo, el aire acondicionado chirría mucho, hay algunos mosquitos y el frigorífico a veces funciona bien y a veces no. El primer día funcionó bien, pero el segundo día toda la fruta que compramos estaba congelada en trozos de hielo duros. Pero la higiene está bien. Se puede ver que se mantiene con mucho cuidado. Además de las fuentes termales públicas, hay dos fuentes termales privadas, Star y Moon, que los huéspedes pueden reservar. En el área de descanso hay oden gratis todas las tardes, lo cual es muy reconfortante. El desayuno también es bueno y rico. Además, Nagano y Shijiazhuang son ciudades amigables y el tenis de mesa es muy popular aquí. Hay mesas de tenis de mesa disponibles para jugar en el salón. El hotel está muy cerca de la estación de Yudanaka, a dos minutos a pie, y en general es recomendable.

The rooms are great and spacious for traditional rooms. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. What's more, the ryokan is close to the station, which is really convenient. It's no fuss and really efficient. They have a bus to take you to Monkey Mountain as well as offering to lend us skis. Unfortunately, I injured my knee just beforehand so I wasn't able to take advantage of it, but it's a really rare service. We'd definitely recommend this hotel!

El hotel está cerca de las pistas de esquí, las habitaciones son muy viejas, el arrecife es viejo y no limpio.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shiga Kogen Sunvalley hotel. It's only a 20 mins bus ride from the Snow Monkey Park. The bus stop (S15) is about 100m away but when it's heavily snowing, it could be a little difficult to pull your luggage across the road. During the winter season, there's a free shuttle bus that takes you around the different resorts. The hotel also has ski rentals and the pricing is very reasonable and convenient for hotel guests to pickup and drop-off. The onsite onsen and sauna is clean and well maintained. We had breakfast included - food selection is good with a mix of Western and Japanese cuisine. Dinner required reservation and you have a choice of Japanese set course, or a casual course. Usui and the team really know how to provide great hospitality and we really enjoyed our stay.
