My mother and I stayed at The Toki for three nights in mid-April, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Everything about the property felt thoughtful and comfortable. The hotel is about a kilometre from the station area, and they make this commute effortless with a shuttle service running multiple times an hour between the station and the reception. Since the villas are set on a steep slope, they also shuttle guests up and down between the reception and the villas, which was incredibly convenient and much appreciated. When we checked in, they had a Mount Fuji-shaped chiffon cake waiting for us in the dining area. It was delicious! One of the things we loved most was the breakfast service. Each morning, breakfast was delivered directly to our doorstep; at check-in, we were simply asked to choose our meal from the menu and select a delivery time. Great way to start the day. They also offer daily housekeeping, and if you choose to skip it on any day, they give you coupons to use at the little shop near reception, which stocks food ike cup noodles, cakes, chips, nuts etc., and fun souvenirs as well. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, accommodating and helpful, and their excellent English made everything especially easy for us. The villa itself was outstanding. Ours had completely unobstructed views of Mount Fuji from every window on both the floors, including the bathroom, which was amazing. Waking up to those views each day was unforgettable. The sunny, clear days were a huge bonus. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, and there was even barbecue equipment for the large terrace. The villa was impeccably clean and equipped with every amenity we could possibly have needed. We had a truly fantastic stay at The Toki, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and comfortable stay in Kawaguchiko.

En primer lugar, quería elegir una habitación con vistas al Monte Fuji en el lago Kawaguchi con unas 2 semanas de antelación. El ambiente y la vista de este hotel son realmente buenos, así que lo aguanté. Al día siguiente compartí la vista de este hotel con mis amigos, y mi amigo chino en Tokio me preguntó qué hotel era. Después de que le dije el nombre, me compartió una noticia impactante. Este hotel Yunshang es bastante famoso entre los círculos japoneses y chinos. Se dice que el propietario chino quería que la habitación del hotel tuviera una vista del Monte Fuji. los árboles que el vecino que tenía delante se negó a talar. Es fácil llegar en autobús rojo, a un corto paseo. El personal es amable y servicial, y habla inglés. El único inconveniente es que el edificio es muy antiguo y está un poco deteriorado; deberían considerar una reforma, pero en general está limpio.

El personal de recepción del hotel fue muy amable y atento, haciéndonos sentir como en casa. Desde la ventana de la habitación se veía directamente el monte Fuji y los cerezos en flor a orillas del lago; el paisaje era sencillamente impresionante. El desayuno estaba incluido y era variado para todos los gustos. También había un baño termal en la sexta planta. El hotel ofrecía un servicio de traslado gratuito a la estación, lo que nos ahorró muchas molestias. ¡Fantástico! El conductor también fue muy amable. ¡Este viaje fue inolvidable!

¡Altamente recomendado! A pesar de ser más caro, diría que realmente tiene una buena relación calidad-precio. Podemos ver el Monte Fuji desde la habitación. La habitación estaba limpia y súper espaciosa. La cena y el desayuno se proporcionaron en el área común del nivel 2. Para aquellos que visiten Kawaguchiko, recomendaría alquilar un automóvil para visitar los lugares de interés cercanos. The self check-in was very strange. There were many Japanese staff and a foreign staff members but they insisted that I my name and address manually. Then I had to pay the onsen tax, which is fair. The machine suggested either cash or credit card. I chose credit card and then the staff suddenly popped his head out to tell me to pay cash, which is extremely strange. It was very confusing. Either they set up their machine correctly, or they should stick to traditional check-in since they have a lot of staff. Still after I paid it took quite some time to get the key, they were ineffective. The room was OK, even though my booking was for 2 BEDS and 1 futon but only got 3 MATTRESSES on the tatami floor... I really enjoyed the bathtub with a view on the lake although there are only few of these bathrooms. The outside onsen looked nice but one of the baths was out of use, unfortunately.

For some reason I was not sent a QR Code to my email to check in. I was sent a pin number which was not necessary or utilized. We arrived at the villa several hours early and called to see if we could check in early, they apparently have a strict after 3pm check-in. We found a place and paid to store our luggage and then came back to the villa at 3pm. Again, still had not received the QR Code. Called again, was hung up on. Called back, was told it would take 10 minutes. Called back and was asked for my email, was put on hold then was asked for my email again (which was already provided at booking). Then was asked to send them an email, they didn't get it and then was asked to send to personal icloud email. They finally found my email and sent the QR Code to me at close to 4pm which was an hour after check-in and we had to stand out in the sun the entire time. This was so frustrating and ridiculous. My email address was in the reservation, why it took so long is crazy. The process needs to be updated so this doesn't happen to other people. There was a huge spider above the TV in the corner, we got rid of it but it was creepy. The view from the villa was great! The beds were nice! Loved the double showers! The body sponges are so clever and left our skin feeling smoothe! The clothes drying was very innovative and did work effectively, needed to turn the heater on twice to get the clothes dry. Towel rack on the wall was broken on the right side, the rod wouldn't stay in. The one pot in the kitchen was burnt on the bottom inside, we tried to clean it to use it but could not. We did use the grill to make dinner and it was a wonderful touch!

It was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.

An Unexpected Gem – One of the Best Resorts We’ve Ever Stayed At We booked this resort near Mount Fuji very late, and we were really worried because almost everything was already sold out. But it turned out to be one of the most wonderful stays we’ve ever had on any of our trips to Japan. The resort has several staff members who speak Vietnamese, and they helped us so much. Every time we needed to go somewhere, the shuttle bus took us to the station—even the times when I requested it late without booking an hour in advance, they still tried their best to arrange a pickup. Their kindness truly showed how much they care about their guests. From the driver to the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was incredibly warm, friendly, and always smiling. They were genuinely adorable and made us feel so welcomed. Our room was a huge surprise: a massive apartment-style space with four beds even though there were only two of us, plus two bathrooms. Everything was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The resort is located in a large forest, so the moment you step inside, you can smell the gentle scent of pine wood everywhere. The atmosphere feels grounding and refreshing—as if the Earth itself is recharging you. One of the best parts is that they have dedicated areas for pets. I got to play with some of the guests’ pets, and it was honestly such a sweet experience. Breakfast was delicious every morning, in a very authentic Japanese style. I went down for breakfast every day, and the dining area has a beautiful view of Mount Fuji—I even recorded some stunning videos there. I never imagined I would be able to book a resort this amazing. It seems like it has been operating for many years, with a rustic and warm charm that I absolutely fell in love with. Down at the reception area, they also sell all kinds of Mount Fuji souvenirs. When you’re out sightseeing in the Fuji area, you tend to buy a lot of souvenirs and snacks, which makes your bags very heavy—but the resort sells everything right there. I compared the prices, and they were actually much cheaper than the tourist spots, so we bought all our gifts there. Super convenient! I genuinely want to come back to this resort for future trips. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed, and I absolutely adore it. Highly, highly recommended.

El lugar está cerca de la parada del autobús del teleférico. La habitación es anticuada, como si estuvieras estancada en los años 90 o principios de los 2000. El baño está separado del baño. Francamente, es mejor bañarse en el onsen si no te importa que te jodan delante de extraños y que te miren los huéspedes japoneses para ver si cometes algún error (quieren que estés limpio en cada rincón y rincón), ya que están en el onsen. Tiene sauna, pero es bastante pequeña. La temperatura ronda los 82 grados C. Tiene un chorro de agua a la antigua usanza que debes controlar manualmente en los 3 lados. Buena suerte para hacerlo rápido durante los días fríos. Servicios básicos en la zona del onsen... solo secador de pelo, ventilador y eso es todo. La cama y la almohada son bastante suaves... las almohadas son pequeñas, pero puedes conseguir más en recepción. Gran vista del lago desde la habitación del hotel y el comedor. El desayuno está bien. El menú es similar todos los días... desayuno estilo bufé... pescado, curry de asa, panes, don de sashimi marinado picado, sopa de maíz y sopas de miso. Café de flujo libre, refrescos y una selección limitada de frutas. La cena está bien, estilo buffet, pero dura 90 minutos. Necesito información sobre el horario que prefieres. Te recomiendo que elijas la cena, porque hay una gran distancia hasta la estación de autobuses para comer y las colas son horribles, pero la comida es buena, incluso puedes admirar el monte Fuji. Escuché que la temática de la cena se basa en meses o estaciones.
