We have just returned from Mauritius, we stayed at the Ambre. On arrival you are greeted with an amazing mocktail, no queuing at reception you are seated, and they come to you take your passports all very relaxing. Very friendly staff. We were taken to our room unfortunately it wasn't what we expected, we didn't even unpack, we immediately went to reception, and explained. We met Reyad Emambacus Front office manager who explained that they were full, but as soon as a room becomes available, he would move us. It took 2 days but eventually we moved, he even escorted us to our room to ensure that we were happy, we were. He is a credit to the company. The food is ok the breakfasts are super, lunch not so, and the evening meals are also OK, however the Italian restaurant is amazing, its open for lunch and dinner, there areitems available for free with all-inclusive, but other items are charged at lunch very reasonably priced well worth trying for lunch The beach snacks are also very good. The entertainment was fun something different each night, my husband was not a fan of the cocktails just not very good at all, the local beer was fine. The pool is lovely, but the water is cold!!! We also had a spa treatment which we both enjoyed. We would recommend the Ambre but be very diligent on checking what rooms you book.
