"Rakkh is one of those places where you come back with far more than photographs — you come back with stories that the family continues talking about long after the holiday is over. What really stood out for us was how thoughtfully the entire experience has been created around spending time together and actually doing things rather than simply staying at a beautiful resort. Our son absolutely loved the sky cycling and the adult obstacle course — definitely among the highlights of the trip for him. Both our kids went completely gaga over the Banta soda, and amusingly, that is still one of the things they remember and talk about even today! The DIY food stations were another brilliant touch. The kids had such fun cooking their own pizza and making their own Maggi at the pizza and Maggi stations. It is such a simple idea, but it turns a meal into an experience and gives children these little moments of independence and excitement. We made our own chai at the chai ki tapri - because what better way to start the day? We have stayed at plenty of resorts, but concepts like these make Rakkh feel genuinely different. The Himachali Dhams deserve their own special mention. The dessert - frozen under the chilled waters of the river, the 50 new varieties of dishes, the incredible setting- one in a mud&stone house, one under the stars- all such culinary delights and experiences. Rooms are excellently appointed (coming from someone who has a high nose about these things)! Small thoughtful touches everywhere- lavender spray for restful sleep, foot soaks and a foot bath tub, various types of loose tea (yes, not your average commercially packaged ones), little bottle of FRESH honey, mathri and biscuits to have with the cuppa chai you brew in your room- I’m blown over. And then there is the staff. Naveen, Sunny, Raman, Nirmal, Rohit, Netra, Anshul, Anil, Safedo aunty…. Absolutely incredible. Warm, cheerful, attentive and always willing to help, without ever making the hospitality feel forced or formal. That warmth runs through the entire property and makes a huge difference to the stay. Add to all of this the beautiful surroundings, fresh mountain air, activities for both children and adults, and the opportunity to disconnect from the usual routine, and Rakkh becomes much more than just a hotel in the hills. A wonderfully thought-out family experience and one that created some very happy memories for us. We were genuinely sad to leave! Would happily recommend Rakkh to families looking for a holiday where the children are engaged, the adults can enjoy themselves too, and everyone comes home remembering the little experiences that made the trip special."
