Premier Inn Birmingham Oldbury (M5, Jct2)

Good servise and good restaurant

I would like to say how pleasant my stay was at the Oldbury branch. In particular, Tracey, the receptionist, along with another colleague, kindly ordered and delivered breakfast for my son and I with a smile. She went the extra mile for us and was really grateful that she stepped in to avoid my son being stressed out in the restaurant

Firstly, I feel bad giving just one star, to be accurate my stay at the Premier Inn was perfect. The one star is due to the frequent car parking tockets I'm getting for parking in the Premier Inn car park. I have stayed here for several nights over the last few weeks and on each occasion I enter my car registration and the number of nights I am staying on the screen in reception. Despite this I still get parking fines through the post. The staff at Premier Inn sorted out the first few for me but even they are now fed up of it and ask that I appeal them myself. This takes a great deal of my time to sort out and this is why I am, for the first time ever, giving Premier Inn one star. Sort it out Premier Inn.

Brilliant hotel for comfortable stay apart from one lady staff who was not friendly. Treated very poorly. But the rest of the staff Brilliant. Especially the guy in the receptions.

Great affordability was. For my partners birthday and worked out a great place to sleep for the weekend shopping only problem was no air con so found it a bit hot even with the window open

We Stayed in room 9 (ground floor). Floorboards above extremely creaky, light fittings rattled, staff unhelpful. Did not get much sleep at all.

Soundproofing is terrible, we were on the ground floor, the person above us, walked around most of the night and you can hear everything. New soundproofing or new hotel needed.

If you dare to park on this car park BE WARNED that you will be issued with £100 car parking fine if you have had the audacity to omit putting your car reg in their machine, which you didn’t know was there! It is shared with the Lakeside Pub where we went for a meal, we were not asked to put reg number into a machine so knew nothing about it, now have been issued with a fine for £100 by some company called Park Maven.

I have submitted this once but hey ho still feeling disappointed that having stayed in Premier Inns dozens of times over the years the conditions in the bathroom we had was not up to standard My wife did complain to reception so I hope it was logged The staff were excellent but after a long journey late at night switching on the bathroom light to be met with this took the gloss off our weekend The soap container was a disgrace and partially rusted away
