La Locanda del Conte Mameli Hotel Via delle Terme 8 Olbia SS, Italy We booked this hotel for Sunday August 27th and 28th checking out on the 29th of 2023. We booked the Queen Suite Spa Martina for the first night and the Princess Suite Spa Giada for the second. The Hotel is very nice and the people who work the front desk are very professional and courteous. The problem we had is the temperature in Olbia at the time was 91F/33C during the day and 73F/23C and very humid. Apparently the Air conditioner was not working the first night. They provided a small fan but the humidity and heat made for a rough night. Without screens on the windows and the high humidity, we kept them shut. We asked to speak to the manager, and they said he was not at the hotel. I politely asked for a discount for the air conditioning not working and they said they would pass it on to the manager. The office staff said they would have him get a hold of us prior to our departure on the 29th. He never got in touch with us nor emailed us to apologize or compensate us in any way. Several weeks after arriving home I emailed the hotel asking for some sort of resolution and did not receive any response. As lovely as this hotel is, I would NOT RECOMMEND staying here as the hotel’s management only cares about money and not the well-being of his guests.

This is a boutique hotel with loads of charm and character. Our Junior Suite was comfortable and classy, but not overly large. The balcony is only for the petit. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the old city, easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The military harbour is also an easy walk, and has a nice promenade shaded by palms and umbrella pines. The breakfast room on the lower level is quaint, and the breakfast is good - a variety of breads, rolls, croissants, local honey and jam, scrambled eggs and bacon. The service is excellent, and we were particularly thankful to Ilaria who helped us rebook our ferry to Corsica, when the weather forecast threatened to cancel that crossing. (waiting a few days was not really an option) As is often the case with those who provide excellent customer service, Ilaria did not think she had done anything special. Those of us who are the beneficiaries of such service know better! Thank you again, Ilaria.

Great place, right in the center of town. the only problem if you arrive after hours and you are not familiar with the area there are several driving and parking restrictions. Only the morning after I found out they have a private parking area not far from the area.

We booked the Queen Suite SPA and were stunned by the amazing terrace with its wonderful view on the city and the sunset. It's possible to sit in the shade or lie on the sunbeds to enjoy it. Inside there is a lot of space, good beds and a big bath room with a rain shower. We also liked the breakfast with a very good cappuccino, which was served in the suite without additional costs - the personnel even brought several cappuccinos. However there are also several points we didn't like: - the credit card was charged with the full amount before our arrival although we booked the option to pay during check-in. The personnel didn't offer us any possibility to pay in cash. - the whirlpool didn't work at all. We followed the instructions, which were available in the suite but it wasn't possible to get the display and the buttons active. We tried to contact the reception desk at 9pm, first by phone (dialing 9) then by walking down to the entry and waiting 10 minutes, but nobody was available neither on the phone nor at the desk.

Outstanding service, hotel/room quality. Absolutely faultless and staff outstanding. Flowers, decor, room cleanliness were excellent. Breakfast and tending staff were again without fault. Well Done The Locanda del Conte Mameli!!

Do not, absolutely do not book this hotel. Horrible! They clame the hotel is 4 Stars. Maybe a 1.5 in the best of circumstances. The rooms are very small, the furniture is old and cheeped, the air conditioning does not work, no coffee in the room, it just looks old and feels old. The street the hotel is on, looks bad, full of graffiti, many buildings are unkept or just abandoned. When we came in, from an apartment across the street, the music was blasting, a bunch of kids were smoking pot and screaming like animals. There is no street parking, and all the parking lots are kind of far and it does not feel too secure to walk at night. All the towels look old and what once was white, it is now gray. The pillows are hard and impossible to use. I just cannot find a good thing to say about this place. At 11 PM the front desk closes, and I really do not know what happens in case of an emergency!

Absolutely everything we liked about this hotel. Diego and Ilaria were the only two reception staff we met and they were both excellent in speaking English, helping with all our questions and gave us good advice on restaurants. They were so helpful and they made our stay such a memorable holiday. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay central in Olbia. Close to the main ***** of restaurants, bars & lovely shops. It’s not far to drive to some amazing beaches. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are gorgeously decorated. The breakfast every morning was delicious and so much variety. All freshly prepared every morning. Only a small hotel with 11 rooms which makes it even better as it was never noisy or crowded at breakfast time. We will definitely stay here again was amazing hotel. Thank you all.

Four AND a half stars for sure!! Breakfast was AMAZING!!! And the bathroom was beautiful!! The location is perfect for strolling into town! The only reason I did not rate a five is that this was a tiny room with a tiny bed, not sure how this would work for two. For me, it was perfect!
