Zenobia Beach Resort

+ amazing location + hard working and friendly staff, with no back up, especially Raheme who had to try to deal with our almost daily complaints - very tired and shabby rooms, look dirty despite staff cleaning daily - manger says this is traditional Zanzibar flooring, not where we’ve been. - a massive problem with the air con. We had 2 different rooms where it was broken - broken shower - damp patches on ceiling - breakfast sub standard - manager refuses to take responsibility, says complaints are just “ bad luck” And we had the highest priced suite for this standard at about £140 a night!

Lovely room good restaurant. So close to the white sand and warm water. We only had one full free day and had a walk through the streets to barter with the shopkeepers. Did the show sunset cruise. A lot of fun - it seems the boat is driven by beating drums😀 Would have liked to stay longer but must move in.

The breakfast was exceptionally good and varied. There was a new selection of food every day and it was always fresh. We were very satisfied with the food. The staff was extremely friendly and we were always treated very politely. On the first day, we were greeted by the staff in a friendly manner with a freshly squeezed juice drink. In addition we were supposed to check in at 3pm but arrived at 10am. The staff made no problems with an earlier check-in and no surcharge. Not every hotel does that. The staff also assisted us with our Safari tour on the mainland by comparing prices with various providers. Overall, the staff helped us in every matter and gave us tips. The hotel is right on the beach. You just walk down the stairs and go straight into the water. You couldn't imagine a better location. Our hotel room was very clean and there was room cleaning every single day. Overall we rate the hotel definitely 1A with a star. And the hotel manager was very friendly! We will travel to Zanzibar again and then we will choose the same hotel. We are exceptionally satisfied with the hotel overall!

The hotel is in a nice location with great views over the Indian Ocean l. The food and services are generally good and at a fairly price. Rooms are in need of a refurbish, but generally they are well maintained and clean. Staff is very pleasant and willing to help

The view and location is great, this is also the best part. The rooms are worn and our bathroom was humid and smelly all the time, even for African standard. Bed was not so comfortable. However it was clean and cleaned every day. No mosquito spray or preparation in the evening. We did not get laundry service even after asking many times. We ran out of toilet paper and it was not replaced by cleaning service. They also make you wear a silly resort bracelet for no reason. The breakfast is good and also the restaurant. The hotel has it's own diesel generator which comes in handy during all the frequent power outs. AC was good. I would also recommend the hotel to clean up the hotel road leading to the main gate. It is full of waste and does not give a good impression. All things considered we still liked it but there is some work some work to be done.

The staff were friendly and professional. Very clean room with comfortable beds. Many restaurants and bars close by.

Zenobia is a budget beach resort with superb comfort. Our room had a fan, air condition and fridge. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was spacious. The room was on the grounfloor but we could still enjoy the view of the sea. Another plus of this resort is the fact that it is situated on the beach, so you can go down, take a swim and then chill on the sunbeds of the resort. We saw the sunset from the area that the sun beds are. The resort has a restaurant which provides good food. Breakfast was amazing too and very varied. All the staff is amazing, especially the guest relations officer. They make a very good team.

Racist.i saw a cocktail in a lovely huge glass, and ordered the exact one, and the waiter brought mine in a tiny glass and I asked why, he said the owner told them to serve in small glasses yet he had just served a huge one to a father and son right in front of ny eyes,my mom went to speak to him about it, he literally ignored us. The other day my mom reserved a table a day in advance, she had sundowners and wanted to seat there for dinner too, the waiter came twice to ask her to move from her seat twice, claiming another family reserved it that very day.when we reserved it a day before.and she stood up to him and said I'm sitting here since I'm staying in the hotel, and they didn't want to serve her for the rest of the night. They eventually started saying the kitchen is closed yet they were serving other people..can you imagine the nonsense and this is a paid customer.when my mom went to the owner to address the situation with the waiters not serving her, he wasn't even surprised or didn't even call the waiters to ask why they were behaving like that, clearly showed that he instructed them not to serve her. The internet barely works too Honestly the service is pathetic

I stayed in Zenobia Resort for 3 nights with my wife. I initially reserved an ocean view room, after checking the room pictures online. Unfortunately when I arrived and checked in, I found a very bad smelly room without any ocean view. It was awful. I complained to the staff, and they kept us waiting a bit then, agreed to change our room, to the next next to it! To my surprise they said that this is the ocean view room. We couldn’t stay in such room, so we upgraded to a suite (their best room available) with a nice view, but we had to pay $150 extra. It was a better room but I can never call it a “suite”. It had kind of spacious bathroom, but always a smelly one too. Because the room is right above the kitchen, so we always have a seafood smell. Not only but also, the AC stopped working after a couple of hours of staying in the room and it never worked again, despite complaining to the staff. They said that there is a problem with the electricity and it will get fixed in a couple of hours. But it never worked again. Imagine staying in a room without AC in August! The room also didn’t have a TV. The breakfast had very limited option to pick from, only 2 main courses and hygiene was a big problem. As I saw a cockroach on the cereal station. Overall experience, I don’t think that Zenobia qualifies as a “Resort”. Its a small guest house. The suites have nice view and the hotel has a good location in Nungwi. This is the only positive comment.
