Champneys Springs is a low quality hotel hiding behind the Champneys Name. I have just returned back from an overnight stay at Champneys Springs, and ive returned dissapointed, the phrase buy cheap buy twice comes to mind. The Rooms are extreamly low quality, ive had a better night sleep at a premier inn. The beds are poor the remind me of a camp bed, and the walls are thin, we heard next doors alarm going off and the lights being turned on. No Bags available to store belongings (they were still awaiting a delivery) No yoghurt availble at breakfast. The Locker keys didnt work. We woke uo to a very abrupt deparure letter reminding us of our 11am departure. No problem with this, as its usually stardard practice worldwide for an 11am check out, however they only have 5 showers available for the whole hotel. The Spa is very basic, One Steam room, One Sauna, a thermal pool that has a very odd sign stating Maximum 8 people allowed to use the Thermal Pool, please use for ten minutes then allow other guests to use. The main swimming pool is cold and the jacuzzi is located inside the cold swimming pool There isnt enough beds so people to relax, we sat on a window sill. There were some pros - Evening Meal and Lunch - really good. Although there were a fair few suppliements on the menu, id expect the odd one but Id say 30% of the pre paid menu had a suppliement. The Grounds are beutiful - which is more of a shame really because if they put some money into this property it has the potenbtial to be fantastic. overall it is a rubbish hotel in a fairly basic spa. dont be led by the price there is much better for not very much more.
