The hotel is located right on the beach (well, what goes as ‘beach’ here – basically a concrete deck up to the sea), with all rooms having a sea view. It is still within easy reach of the centre of Piran, reached by a path along the coast. As you reach the hotel, you will find that parking is a real issue – there are not enough parking lots for all 50+ rooms, and the area is popular for going to the beach; the public parking lots charge 15 € per day, are at least 100 m away, and fill up as well. The reception is friendly and efficient. Once you are checked in, you walk through the breakfast room and up a ramp to a single, small, old elevator that takes you up to the rooms in the main building; it doesn’t inspire much confidence, so most guests only use it to bring their luggage to / from the rooms – it’s only three storeys max… While some rooms (those with numbers ending with x06 to x09) face the lake and the coastline of Piran, the rest is built to face more towards the sea; that makes little difference in terms of the views, but keeps the sun out more. The rooms are small for two people, in particular the wardrobe – it looks like it is rather made for a stay of a few days than for a week or two. There is a little fridge / minibar; the WiFi works. The bathrooms are very small (except for the shower), with no place to put toiletries (well, on the cistern of the toilet…) – two people will struggle to use it at the same time. There is a hair dryer with US sockets. The beds are good, but only have a single pillow type. There are opaque curtains to keep the daylight out; while they leave light through at the sides and the top, they do a reasonable job. It is very quiet at night (unless the other hotel guests aren’t…), so all set for a good night’s sleep. A simple but reasonable breakfast buffet is included in the room charge, with seating inside and on a terrace facing the beach and the sea. During the day and in the evenings, reasonable food can be had at the restaurant; the service is efficient (no long waiting times).

Ya hemos estado allí con más frecuencia; como siempre (casi) todo lo mejor. Sin embargo, esta vez dos críticas: La iluminación nocturna en los parques de estacionamiento fue defectuosa (se conocía y no se reparó a pesar de las noticias recientes). El bar en la playa estaba cerrado, a pesar del gran interés de los huéspedes. Incomprensible para mí.

The view from the rooftop is amazing! We had a wonderful time. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic, creating a relaxing and enjoyable environment. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met promptly. Overall, it was a memorable experience that we highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay and dine.

Premetto che una vacanza family qui è sempre consigliata ma rispetto all’anno scorso lo abbiamo trovato calato: innanzitutto il buffet, quello che era il punto forte illustrato nella mia precedente recensione a cinque stelle, non era più invitante come la volta precedente. Diciamo che alla vista nulla ti attirava anche se poi il gusto era comunque accettabile. Per quanto riguarda il personale della reception, anche qui come l’anno scorso abbiamo trovato una certa freddezza e velocità. Quest’anno però anche il resto dello staff non ci ha entusiasmato. Poco sorridenti, poco cordiali e spesso svogliati. Inoltre praticamente nessuno parlava l’italiano ma la cosa strana è che molti non capivano neanche l’inglese quindi comunicare è stato un po’ assurdo nel senso che tu parli e loro fissano il vuoto. Una mattina a colazione ho chiesto al cameriere di sparecchiare il tavolo degli ospiti precedenti e preparare il nostro: lui ha cambiato piatti e posate e ha lasciato il tovagliato sporco, macchiato, le briciole sul tavolo e sulle sedie. Io sconvolta me lo sono pulita da sola perché tanto lui non capiva. Agli ospiti di fianco a noi invece, ha rifatto il tavolo pulendo tutto. E’ difficile capire se ci siano state incomprensioni con la lingua inglese o semplicemente se lui usi pulire un tavolo si e uno no… Per quanto riguarda i prezzi sono sempre molto buoni, sia per il soggiorno che per il servizio bar. L’unica nota assurda è la bottiglia d’acqua da 0,75 a cena al prezzo di 4,30 €, una vera esagerazione che non ti aspetti visti appunto i prezzi relativamente contenuti di tutto il resto. La camera quest’anno era davvero piccola, probabilmente l’anno scorso anche se avevo prenotato la stessa tipologia, avevo avuto un upgrade. Bagno davvero minuscolo e vista più che parco direi sul retro bottega e sulla facciata interna dell’hotel che appariva scolorita, macchiata e non impeccabile come la volta precedente. Anche le zone comuni le ho trovate un po’ meno in ordine e meno pulite dell’anno scorso. Un po’ ci è dispiaciuto perché lo standard è sceso comunque sicuramente questo hotel lo consiglio perché è un luogo tranquillo, dove si sta bene e non manca niente, i bambini si divertono grazie alle svariate attrazioni dedicate a loro, c’è animazione e ci sono spettacoli anche per adulti. Vista stupenda e posizione super. Noi ci siamo ritornati perché l’anno scorso è stato tutto wow, adesso dopo quest’ultima esperienza non so se ci ritornerei. Potevo immaginare che mantenere un livello così alto fosse difficile ma in fondo ci speravo. Diciamo che da un’esperienza “super” quest’anno siamo scesi ad una “bella” esperienza.

El hogar móvil tenía su propio jacuzzi que nos disfrutamos mucho - una gran manera de relajarse después de un día explorando las bellezas de la península Istriana. La piscina en el resort era maravillosa (aunque demasiado fría para mi) y la pizzeria vivió hasta su facturación como una de las mejores pizzerias de Istria. El hotel tiene una gran variedad de habitaciones, y tiene una gran variedad de habitaciones. El hotel está muy bien situado, y el hotel está muy bien situado.

We were visiting the Slovenian Coast for 5 Nights as a couple with a dog. We opted for a hotel in a more quiet location compared with portoroz - Izola etc.... What a great choice! Firstly, the hotel is beautiful renovated and looks like a new place. All is well and feels new - from the Restaurant, Lobby and the Rooms! (and awesome Salt chambers..) We chose a double room with balcony, which in those hot days were great for the early mornings or later evenings! (plus a big help in drying beach towels and clothes!) The room was nice, safe and mini bar fridge all available. Good shower - and for outdoor 38 degrees heat a perfectly working Air Con!! That's a real bonus! The Food (Breakfast was an enough wide selection) and the Dinner (mixed à la carte & sushi) must be stated was amazingly nice cooked, real top quality chef! if you like to dine out or eat in the evenings out just a 10-minute walk is the Ancaran Townsquare with a handful of nice Bars, Italian, Local Speciality Restaurant and so on. ＞All one needs! But the best ist still straight down from the hotel, the small bar on the beach! - So! - most over all I like to mention the feeling being a few days away from home in this place made us really relaxed and the best of the hotel is the people who work there!! - from the welcome reception team to the bar & restaurant staff and the housekeepers - all were at every time friendly and engaged! Overall, the Owner or Manager of this Hotel should be happy to have exactly this team working there now! They are awesome people with a good sense of hospitality! I would try to keep them! From the hotel you can walk in 3-5 minutes to a nice calm, quiet beach with another nice Restaurant and Bar (directly overlooking the Bay of Ancaran, Koper and so on) which was a lovely scenery!). The water was crystal clean and perfect temperature, and each time coming back to the hotel felt simply nice. Having travelled over 100s of times and stayed in 2-5 star hotels all over - this is definitely a place to go back. You just have to know what you are looking for and what kind of entertainment one wants. If you choose wisely, and you look for a bit more quiet place and not overloaded with people - and good drinks, food etc... than this is your destination! Thank you Team Ortus for the great stay. Lovely boutique hotel right on the water. If we come back to Novigrad, we will definitely return here. The staff is very professional, courteous, polite, and helpful. Suite has – private elevator to room from lobby; sauna (which we did not use); living room with sliding glass door to deck with frig; bathroom with (very tight fit shower) and door to deck; large bedroom with shelving, safe, and sliding glass door to deck; full length of suite deck with hot tub, sunbeds, and table overlooking west view of sea. Lovely turquoise blue and white color scheme; very clean. The bed had German style individual duvets. The shower is half of the tub with a movable partial glass “door” over the tub that makes for a very tight squeeze, with a sloped tub floor down to the drain on the opposite side of the tub; the tub floor is very slippery. The water pressure is not good and the shower is hard to use.The air conditioning works very well. There is not an assigned parking space; we had to park in a very tight fit at the marina about a ten minute walk away but the car was safe. The hot tub on the deck is marvelous at sunset. Check it when you first arrive – the lid was off and the water was very cold (because the lid was off, which the hotel person did not seem to understand), so we closed it up and turned the temperature up so we could use it the next day. The breakfast is buffet, with a small selection. There is not much of anything that is healthy (low calorie / low fat) other than the cherry tomatoes used as garnish on other offerings. Fruit is “whole”, not cut up or sliced. Bread is pretty stale (sliced, not rolls). The outdoor terrace is wonderful – across the pedestrian path and in a covered glass building right on the water. The a la carte omelettes are very good. The hotel is right on the pedestrian path along the water, with a cement slab below the glass dining pavilion. The sunbeds cost 18 euros per person even for hotel guests, which does not seem appropriate given the expense of the rooms to stay there; they should be free for hotel guests. Restaurants close early! We had trouble finding restaurants open and serving food after 9 pm. There is a grocery store a few blocks away.
