It is laughable that this hotel calls itself 5 star. Don't be fooled, it is not. Lets start at our arrival. Get into room at 10pm. As we had missed dinner a supposed cold platter was placed in our room. It consisted of a few bits of ham, cheese and 1 very small slice of bread. The safety deposit box did not work, I couldn't get the shower to work. There was someone else's empty shampoo bottle in the shower. I went to plug the kettle in a very dodgy multi-plug, which made the lamp on the sideboard flicker. Couldn't get the TV to work. very uneven and flooring on entrance to the room. The wardrobe doors were so heavy that my wife could hardly open them. On opening the chest of drawers there was an overpowering smell of mustiness as if they hadn't been opened for years, The room smelt of damp generally. Breakfast: if you are going to provide a hot option i.e, fried/ scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages why is it stone cold! Not cooling down or warm or even tepid but stone cold. One morning they cooked a fried egg and bacon for my wife by request, The chef achieved the remarkable feat of burning the bottom of the egg whilst the yolk was still cold. There was a very limited selection of fruit. The bar staff were very good however he could quite easily be rushed off his feet doubling as a waiter in the restaurant. Dinner was very good and the staff were always charming and helpful. I give 2 stars not 1 because of dinner and the staff but the rooms although I must admit were spacious, are not up to even a 3 star standard. Very disappointing.
