"I went to the hotel for a meal as this was a recommendation by a friend. En la llegada a nuestra mesa nos saludaron con una cara amable y nos preguntaron si queríamos sentarse al fuego para tomar una bebida antes de nuestra comida (un hermoso toque) nos sentamos y nos disfrutamos de nuestras bebidas y nuestra orden fue tomada. Nos sentamos al fuego y nuestra boca de amusó llegó, un verdadero predinner trata un tartaruga de queso azul devon con jam chorizo ... sorprendente!! El nuevo menú de la mesa nos llevaba a nuestra mesa para nuestros iniciadores, un pudding de hojas y un pudding de color negro con la manzana .. chef ... trabajo de primera!! El otro iniciador fue un artícuo que fue otra vez el artícuo de primera. ¡La comida de la vaca no es una buena comida! Lamentablemente, pero hemos podido apretar en un café por el fuego. No se puede recomendar este hotel lo suficiente como para comer, personal y atmósfera todas sorprendentes. Los perros del restaurante lo hacen un ambiente especial no hay muchos hoteles donde se cuidan de ellos Los clientes y perros están en una situación tan alta."

Bampton Townhouse ★★

"Great marketing and a very comfortable bed but very far from luxurious! We were in the biggest room with nowhere to put our clothes. I’ m 5ft 6” and could barely reach the cost pegs which were too large for my coats; there was nowhere else to hang up clothes and the couple of tiny drawers were big enough for underwear only. Cases had to be opened on the floor. Coffee/tea but no milk were available in the kitchen downstairs (I got dressed again and went to the Spar opposite for milk). A tiny plastic box in the bathroom held the very mean selection of shampoo etc. ( only enough shampoo for one and a couple of sample type sachets of bath oil). Are 2018 magazines sufficiently old to be considered retro? That’s the reading material in the room. Perhaps the owner has not noticed the damp in the wall beside the large mirror. This is an AirB&B at best, certainly not a hotel."

"The owners have pitched this pub just right. Perfect for families, couples or a swift pint if you are on your own. Food amazing with whopping portions. Chef really flexible and can cook everything on the menu to an exceptional standard. The setting is beautiful against the back drop of a River and beautifully tended gardens. We have a holiday let on Exmoor and advise all our guests to come here and it never disappoints. Huge credit to the owners and the staff, who are always really friendly."

"Went for Sunday roast. Limited menu: beef or lamb, chicken and vegetarian option. I had to have the chicken as they couldn’t do the other meat well done, my friend had the beef. Very rare and looked very fatty and unpleasant. Good portion but £45 for just that and two drinks. Some muddle about what was vegan on the dessert menu so we didn’t bother. Will stick to other nearby option which has all you can eat carvery with far more choice. Disappointing but have had good lunches there in the past."
