Premier Inn London Wimbledon South

Stayed here multiple times with varying success. Staff are great and friendly and the check in, away from busy periods, is simple and quick. Restaurant is fine with the usual standard across the Premier Inn small menu range. This however will be my last stay as I cannot continue to pay £180-£200 per night with the drop in standards. Attached a picture of my room that was charged at £185: Broken AC unit TV screen damaged and unable to use remote to check channel listing. Not the cleanest bathroom - damage to skirting and staining on floor under sink Staining to headboard and floor in bedroom. Carpet stained and 1/2 inch gap where no carpet gripper used. Will look elsewhere now for my regular business trips to the area and it’s a shame as it’s this hotel is in a convenient area but needs to address these basic standard issues.

Awful place. This hotel currently under renovation and you can see why! Shocking condition of room and cleanliness. Walls paper thin. Someone playing awful music next door really loud! Like a crystal maze task trying to get to reception from the car park with all the scaffolding ! This place should be closed until full renovation complete ! Worse premier inn in London !

Family trip, made relaxing by the friendly and helpful staff. Starting with the lady that greeted us on arrival at reception and the gentleman whom helped us with arranging a taxi. (unfortunately we did not get their names). Free parking is always an add bonus. Our room and communal areas in need of some TLC but all very clean. The shining star by far for our stay was Judith who greeted us for breakfast, she made us feel very welcome and brighten our day. Would definitely stay here again.

Only staying for one night due to train strikes. Hotel covered in scaffolding which wasn’t the best start. Arrived late to find… Room smelt very strongly of smoke Only given one towel General upkeep very poor - floor was stained, skirting was also mouldy or bare in some places Lukewarm shower at best- left water running for ages but never improved.

Large amount of scaffolding outside was slightly off-putting, but inside was clean, easy to navigate, with comfortable room and friendly staff. I would stay here again when visiting this area of London.

Unfriendly staff when available. In the morning they just put up a sign “serving at the restaurant, come back in 2hr or wait”. Dirty hotel, smelly corridor and room, smelly towels. Bathroom flooded and nobody to report the issue to.

First the positives: it's a Premier Inn so you get what you expect in terms of design, bedrooms, breakfast etc. Unfortunately, even for a generic hotel chain, Wimbledon South, isn't a particularly good choice if your main purpose is to see the sights in London. It's near a tube station (Colliers Wood), but it's quite a journey in, and - if you are returning from - say - Trafalgar Square - you'll need to change lines too, adding even more time. Area isn't great for eating out, though we did find a nice Venezuelan restaurant not too far from the hotel, and there's a large m&s and Sainsbury's on the doorstep. It's very noisy throughout the night, with police cars and ambulances, which - if you need to keep the window open to help cool the room down - can disrupt sleep. Staff weren't particularly friendly - but efficient enough. All in all I'd recommend spending a bit more and staying nearer central London if you're on the tourist trail.

As always we booked an accessible room, from car park to room with a wheelchair is a challenge. Tight turns and small doors are very difficult to negotiate. Check in was fine but the room wasn’t, dirty broken and they didn’t even make the room up after the first night. Premier inns are not what they used to be, having stayed in 3 across the country in the last two weeks ; they have all been poor.

Second I’ve stayed in this Premier Inn, chose this hotel again because of on site free parking available and outside of London so won’t need to pay ULEZ and congestion charges. Also very close to the tube. The room was very cold and we stayed when temperatures were very cold and we had snow. Had the heating for over an hour and it wasn’t even blowing out warm air. Worst of all it’s the unit right next to the bed so it was blowing cold air right at your head even if you altered the vents. Reported this to reception and they changed it on the control panel but still didn’t work so on our first time it was very cold and kept waking up in the middle of the night. We had to wear our coats in the room as it was so cold. On our last night we asked for portable heaters but they didn’t have any and we didn’t bother changing rooms because it was our last night. Therefore, we did not have a guaranteed good night sleep at all!
