Hostel has all the things you need for a comfy night. No worries here. Friendly staff and easy to meet friends. Great location.

Not my place so I transferred to a better place

Terribly maintained, did not have fresh sheets, 1 pillow and really old stained linen. Shared ammenities are not cleaned regularly. Smelly and dangerous.

AVOID AT ALL COST / FEMALE WARNING !!! Everything you will read abut this hostel is true: after months of travelling in NZ, Australia and whole Asia and China, this hostel is by far the worst I have ever stayed. * First: is completing disgusting everywhere : bathroom, toilets and rooms are completely disgusting, smelly and dirty. No aircon and no fan in the rooms, great for the Australian heat... * Second : is is one of the most unsafe hostel I have stayed, lot of people on *****, drunk, yelling, fighting or arguing even at night, talking alone or with wide range of mental disabilities. Even as a solo male, I felt very unsafe. FOR FEMALE TRAVELERS : Avoid please, very unsafe for women... I was at the reception, and 2 men were reporting that a girl in their room was traumatized because a random guy went into her bed to sleep in front of her, and the receptionist didn't care at all, saying that the girl has to deal with it with the police. So basically you can be sexually assaulted and nothing will be done for you. * Third : the staff is totally unfriendly, talk to you so bad and do not care at all about any issues you can have. They only care about getting your money and the keys back. As mentioned before, they didn't do anything about a potential sexual assault. Honestly it is more that a crappy and dirty place, it is also a dangerous place so stay. Even if it is the cheapest, please avoid...

Used this hostel for just one night. Got in and the room and the door handle was wonky and looked damaged, it did still lock however, but with the door handle being as it was I did find it hard at times to unlock the door to the room. Wouldn't say the hostel was overly welcoming. Paid the bare minimum received the bare minimum, it did its job for me being a place to sleep. Location wise it's a 5 minute walk, if that, to the free tram line, really convenient

Good location, but the female dorm door hard to open with the keys, we've to stand at the door atleast a good 10mins, trying to open it. Even then success rates are slim. No elevator, steep stairs going up to the hostel.

Good for bacpaker

A reminder of the past and some mates I think about every day regardless, without this reminder. After 2021/2 in Melbourne we tend to say another... It is what it is. I didn't mind losing a bit of sleep because some other people are hurting a bit more than me... or at least not coping as well. Call me a cop though and I prefer to sleep out in the park. I hope I was able to help in some small way just by sitting amongst it. These places are part of infrastructure and very necessary. The only party to offer much tend to be those who want the real estate and assets.

Booked a solo room bc I know how loud dorms can be. Didn’t make a difference — could hear people talking in the halls, moving furniture and slamming doors all night long. Window to the street didn’t close - on a 2degree winter night with roadworks outside this was a nightmare. Didn’t sleep a wink. Minimal security - walk up with no scan cards or codes in/out. Apathetic staff who don’t seem to know what they’re doing. Stay somewhere else! There’s much nicer backpackers out there.
