I ended up climbing Croagh Patrick which was an absolute highlight of my Ireland trip with another solo traveler I met in the hostel kitchen. Honestly just had a really great time experience here everything regarding the cleanliness and staff and other people at the hostel was so fine. This is what a hostel should be!"

"The Mariner was in a great location in Westport, Mayo on April 10, 2026. There were many pubs in the area. We ended up in the Porter House which was very close to the hotel. There was public parking for Two Euros for 24 hours. across the street. There were many places to eat. Many of the restaurants were within a short distance of the hotel. Many of the pubs had live music at night. The Porter House was a surprise great time."

"Stayed two nights recently at the Moy Hotel. The stay was disappointing, firstly we looked for some food in the restaurant and we were told that the kitchen was now closed, despite being said in the literature in the room that last orders were at 20:30. We were not advised at check in that the kitchen would be closed early. The member of staff said that they cannot accommodate us and suggested we try somewhere else in the town even though we would have been happy with a sandwich or something light. The room was basic, no tea and coffee facilities and had to request them. The cleanliness of the room was basic, there was a towel on the back of the bathroom door from the earlier occupant and there was a lot of dust around the TV and the back of it. Breakfast was basic and not much of a choice, had to ask for orange juice, the staff member did not know if they had any. During the stay we attended a function, the meal was a sit down meal, the food itself was lovely, however the service was not. Many tables had finished their main course before other tables even got served. When checking out, this took ages for someone to come to the desk. Over all the stay was disappointing and that there are definitely not enough experienced staff around. I would eat there again, but I will not be staying."

"Stayed in September for a mid week break with Husband and baby. Hotel was well presented, staying in the suite, it looked very impressive on arrival. Super view! Not as clean as one would expect, a dirty sock from a previous guest under the coffee table, false eyelashes on floor in living room and a dirty tea spoon on the cups in tea station. Super king mattress sages in the middle, may not bother most but it's not hotel quality. Baby cot mattress very hard and could feel the support bars underneath, baby wouldn't lie down until I put two pillows and a blanket under the mattress as a barrier. So this may need a small materess on top. The white linen sheet is not going to make that comfortable. Caroline in bar who served our very delicious dinner was very kind, and friendly dispute being under pressure when we arrived. An extra body would be helpful there. Mid week seems quiet so A great time to get basics and standards right 😉Overall good hotel but needs more attention to the basics here, hygiene in bedrooms (stern chat with accom team required!) a toddler could eat an set of eyelashs and I don't want to think where the sock could have been before I put it into the bin 😱Hoovering between guests is an absolute essential. Having worked in a accom in the past, I can spot when things are being left undone. This shouldn't let a good hotel down."
