Hoteles cerca del Convento di Santa Lucia ed Agata al Piano, Matera

To be honest, I was skeptical about this one. I needed to book the hotel last minute (like literally the previous night), so seeing an old-looking building (probably constructed in the 1980s) was not really encouraging BUT I wanted to see Matera, so I went ahead. The hotel surprised me and by a lot. First of all - yes, the building is old BUT all inside is renovated, so all is great. The rooms are good in size (not too small at all, just right) and everything is very clean. You have a full minibar if you want something and the hotel has a working restaurant and staff at reception 24/7. The breakfast is phenomenal (like, literally anything any traveler could want) and the staff are helpful and friendly. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Basically, there is no other hotel in Matera which is closer to the Sassi and the historical center. You just need 5 minutes of slow walking (entrance to the old town square is just behind the hotel :) ) and you are at the viewpoint and the cistern. There is a vending machine for snacks and drinks just less than 10 minutes away down the street from the hotel (in the old town) and any sights and amazing places to eat are within the same 5-10 minute distance. If you want to see the historical center of Matera, this is the place to stay (you won't regret it, trust me!). The hotel is very popular with Italians visiting Matera, so keep that in mind and if you are not travelling solo, like me, better book in advance :) The prime location comes with a single downside and a few things to consider (listing them here as they are just things to keep in mind and not something that is a huge issue) - the proximity to the Sassi means you will be quite far away from the bus station (3 kilometers) and the train station (1.5 kilometers). The distance is not that much BUT it is an uphill slope 90% of the time, so if you have a lot of luggage, better take a taxi. I loved it, so there is nothing I can put my finger at as a bad things, really, I just want to continue what I started above with the things you should keep in mind when visiting. If you come by car, make sure to notify the hotel in advance, as it is within a restricted parking area and parking lots are limited. Also be aware that the hotel is busy (as I said, very popular with Italians visiting) and check-in starts at 15.00, so if you come in earlier than that, you may need to wait. The staff would do anything they can to accommodate you early, BUT if you plan on arriving before noon, better notify them, to get your room ready. The hotel also have luggage storage, just so you know. Did I say I loved it? Just to repeat I can't wait to return!

Debo asumir que llegamos a Matera sin hacer ninguna reserva. Después de varios intentos vacíos, desde el Pequeño Hotel nos dijeron que todavía tenían una habitación disponible, pero con una cama en ”francés” prácticamente una plaza y media. Así que no sorprende que nos encontramos en esta habitación, en el segundo piso sin ascensor, donde el baño también era pequeño. No hay mesa, ni nevera ni un vaso de baño, pero sobre todo no hay aire acondicionado ... por el momento fuera de servicio. Muy cortesía y disponibilidad (Nos han puesto a disposición un apunte gratuito durante dos días) y no es poco. El precio también fue razonablemente bajo.

The stay was fantastic, the location is excellent. The hospitality was amazing and the rooms was very clean and the team was available all day long if you need something. Also they can help you with tours, restaurants and everything that you can imagine. I strongly recommend you to visit it if you are wondering for staying there.

Un hotel maravilloso en todos los detalles. Un diseño impresionante que combina lo Moderno con la arquitectura tradicional de Matera. Un lujo en todos los sentidos, la cama, la ropa de cama, el baño, el desayuno y la atención de la gente. No tenemos duda de que volveremos a este lugar y a este hotel que es de los Más lindos que hemos estado.

El hotel está situado en la antigua ciudad de Matala. El hall, restaurante y habitaciones del hotel combinan las características originales de la caverna con un sentido de diseño. La habitación en la que vivo abre la ventana de madera para ver el paisaje de la caverna de la antigua ciudad. El cuarto está caliente y puede reservar un spa si el tiempo es suficiente. Es especialmente conveniente salir de la antigua ciudad.

La habitación era de 208 y era limpia y cómoda. El desayuno era diferente. Ellos tenían pan y pasteles en las mesa y le serviría café. Me pregunté si tenían huevos y se les dijo que iban a salir, pero no vi ningún lugar para los huevos. Se sacaron con unos 12 platos ovalados con 3 piezas de bacon y huevos abrasados, pero los huevos parecían que estaban colocados en la plata y luego se pastaron. Tenían una ”piel” en ellos. Quizás se sentaron en el aire por unas pocas horas y habían secado. Tres personas estaban en mi mesa y tuvimos tres platos de huevos, así que cada uno tomaba uno. Los platos estaban muy calientes. A medida que cada vez más personas llegaron a la comida, somos un grupo de 35, se anunció que sólo se proporcionarían 3 platos por mesa y deberíamos compartir. OOPS. Porque los pájaros tempranos asumían una plata por persona, no había suficientes huevos para las personas posteriores. ¿Es porque estamos allí fuera de temporada? ¿Porque todos están tratando de recuperarse de la pandemia? ¿Porque esta región de Italia es barata? ¿Porque la compañía turística tiene una ”Trato”? Los jardines y los terrenos fueron hermosos y relajante.

El hotel MH Matera nos encantó a todos. Habitaciones súper confortables y baño con todos los detalles. El desayuno completísimo y todo muy fresco y rico. Instalaciones y todas las zonas muy bonitas y decoradas con muy buen gusto. La distancia al centro no es un problema porque se llega muy rápido. Además el personal, especialmente Maria, muy profesional y encantador. Espero volver pronto y quedarme más tiempo. Muchas gracias.
