Estuve allí en octubre de 2022 durante 2 semanas. Una noche, mientras estaba en la cama con el portátil, vi una pequeña rata. Al quejarme en recepción, me reubicaron a otra, mucho más pequeña, lo cuál me daba inseguridad pues tenía menos perspectiva para ver los rincones de la habitación. Me fui con una pequeña mochila dejando la mayoría de mis cosas en la de la primera, pues me daba miedo recogerlo sola. Al día siguiente les pedí que me dieran una habitación del tamaño de la primera, pero me dijeron que no. Terminé de retirar todas mis cosas de la primera para que pudiera limpiar y revisarla bien, así que volví a esta. Al regresar me di cuenta de que me había dejado en el marco del espejo, una tarjeta de metro mensual que me habían dado mi empresa, y que tenía un valor de 80e, además no era nominal, o sea que cualquiera podía usarla. Lo único que hicieron fue culpar al servicio de limpieza, por cierto sub-contratado, sin asumir ningua responsabilidad y evitando mirarme cuando pasaba por recepción. Esa misma noche escuché otra rata, con mi grito paró el ruido y supongo que se fue porque no la vi, pero pude encontrar un agujero en el techo. Me volvieron a cambiar, conseguí con suerte que fuera a una del mismo tamaño... Todos los días preguntaba por la tarjeta y solo me daban largas. Era todo lo que pedía, pues me preocupaba mucho porque me la había dado mi empresa. La penúltima noche, vi una rata super grande en la habitación, bajé ya con mucha ansiedad y nervios. Me dieron un ”upgrade” según ellos: lo mismo pero con dos camas dobles... ah! y un ticket para una bebida en el bar... Obviamente no pude dormir las dos últimas noches... Al irme hice mi último intento de conseguir la tarjeta de metro, como hacía cada día, me dijeron que les diera mi número de cuenta que me lo enviarían... obviamente ni rastro... Es increíble el desprecio con el que me han tratado, por no hablar de que está INFESTADO DE RATAS! No es fácil ver una rata, cuántas no pasarían por la habitación o cómo estaría la cocina... When I complained to the front desk, they moved me to another, much smaller room, which made me insecure because I had less perspective to see the corners of the room. I left with a small backpack, leaving most of my things in the first one, as I was afraid to pick it up alone. The next day I asked them to give me a room the size of the first one, but they said no. I finished removing all my things from the first one so they could clean and check it well, so I went back to this one. When I returned I realized that I had left on the mirror frame, a monthly metro card that my company had given me, and it was worth 80e, also it was not nominal, so anyone could use it. The only thing they did was to blame the cleaning service, by the way subcontracted, without taking any responsibility and avoiding looking at me when I passed by reception.

El hotel está bastante lejos de la estación de tren, pero si no tienes prisa o tu destino está en la ciudad, no hay problema. Cuando llegué, había mucha gente esperando para registrarse. Me dieron una habitación un poco tarde y tuve que esperar entre 15 y 20 minutos para obtener una tarjeta de acceso. (Desafortunadamente, el bar del hotel no estaba abierto en ese momento. De lo contrario, me sentaría para relajarme y esperar). La habitación:: Me gusta mucho la habitación, todo como en la foto, muy elegante, cómoda y limpia. Solo el aire acondicionado no hacía frío por la noche.

La ubicación es muy buena, se ve la gran torre de agua. Al lado del hotel hay una impresionante pizzería a la parrilla. Había una pequeña diferencia entre la dirección de navegación y la entrada del lobby, así que la busqué por un tiempo. ¡El desayuno era bueno!

The Mercure Mannheim Rathaus is a bit dated but still OK and very practical / functional for a stay in Mannheim. Centrally located. Friendly staff. Clean. Access with public transit is a bit tricky, either a 25-minute walk from the main station or a combination of tram / walk. Arriving by car is much easier, they have a garage (do not know about the cost though). One nice things for a stay during the summer period: you can open the windows at the hotel for fresh air. Downside: there was no vault in the room.

La recepción fue muy amable, escuchada y nos dio dos agradables habitaciones con vistas a la ciudad (en lugar de la estación y los trenes). Hotel moderno y limpio, un gran desayuno para comenzar su día y, lo más importante, es 5 minutos a pie de la estación principal de tren de Mannheim y 2 minutos a pie de la estación de tranvía del distrito comercial de Mannheim. First off, understand that Ludwigshafen is not a happening place. I was here for business, for which I feel the place would be adequate for a day or two stay, but not the week I was here. I titled this as ”try hard”, as that's what I hear my kids call someone who is tries hard and fails, which I feel fits since the hotel tries really hard to be modern and hip. Moxy is Marriot's new brand aimed at the youth and the copies board games, lockers, random graffiti and whatnot scattered around the lobby would imply they are going that way. Considering most of the time it was filled with old businessmen like me would say they might want to consider having this in a more appropriate location. Moxy Lu is a very spartan hotel. No restaurant to speak of - on Sunday I asked if they had any lunch offerings as nothing is around there and they told me their one and only oven, used to cook breakfast, was broken and wouldn't be working for at least a few hours. There is a very solid Italian restaurant next door but you don't want to eat that every day. There's also right now a Christmas market nearby but the opening timing for it is very variable. It's also next to the Rhine mall but understand that German business hours are earlier than American so it closes early and is closed entirely on Sunday. Rooms are clearly advertised as capsule types and they are very reminiscent of Japanese capsule rooms - a bed, bathroom, a chair, and that's it. A hook on the wall and 4 hangers is all your clothes storage, a 6 inch wide, 2 foot long glass panel sticking out from the wall is your ”desk”, and that's it. No safe, no shelves, no coffee machine, nothing. Definitely not where I wanted to spend a week, but that's not their fault. The hotel is very new and is very clean overall. Also a plus that it is very quiet. I've been in hotels where I could literally hear the person walking around next door. All that said, why 3 stars? Well, as clean as it was, there was a long black hair at eye level in the shower when I first stepped in. As I'm folically challenged, I'm certain it wasn't mine. Secondly, one of the elevators broke multiple times while I was there, once trapping a person in there for 15 minutes while I was in the lobby. He eventually tumbled out, angry, scared, and half-clothed (took off some clothes as he was feeling very hot). Said elevator was not flagged as being out of order for at least an hour after as I was in and out. Eventually it was. It had an out of order sign still on it on my second day despite being in use...assumed this was an error before the guy got caught in front of me. Not good management of an issue, I feel.

Muy acogedora habitación, todo disponible, incluso cocina de agua con café/té. Lechos: super dormido Las habitaciones pueden oscurecer completamente No hay ruido de carreteras/trenes oídos, ¡muy silencioso! Servicio muy amable, desayuno buffet todo allí, se rellena constantemente. Precio/rendimiento razonable. Muchas gracias a todos los que en el hotel hacen su trabajo tan maravilloso! ¡Nos vamos a volver!

Nos alojamos tres días y dos noches. Hay una estación de tren cerca. Se tarda unos 10 minutos en llegar en autobús. Esta vez me quedé en una suite. Tiene una pequeña cocina. Puedes ir al supermercado a comprar y luego volver al hotel a cocinar, pero no hay personal que la limpie al día siguiente. También fuimos al centro de la ciudad y ese día estaba nevando. El último día simplemente llovió. En general estuvo bien.

We were so glad to see this fully renovated hotel open in time for our visit to the Heidelberg Christmas Market (original opening date was projected for the end of December). The Hilton Heidelberg is an incredible facility, surpassed only by the amazing team working to provide the best possible experience! We have never been so graciously welcomed by so many on the team, including the General Manager, Remmie. Margarita and Katerina took great care of us during check in and were even able to upgrade us to a Junior Suite - what a welcome surprise! After settling in to our room, we had the pleasure of meeting Lubeth in the Executive Lounge who took care of every need and made us feel so welcome - always with a smile! The management team is definitely committed to hiring the best, but they are also clearly committed to leading by example. Vladimir (the restaurant manager) made a point of introducing himself and checking to be sure we were enjoying our stay and Sonja was so gracious when we were visiting the restaurant. Brent stopped by while we were in the Executive Lounge to be sure we were enjoying our visit and asked if there was anything he could do to help. Tim (a Heidelberg local) took time to share some of his favorite spots around town, as well as the hotel amenities and make sure we made the most of our time in town! I cannot remember another hotel stay where I could name more than 1-2 people on the staff - this team truly made us feel welcomed and valued! Thank you for a such a great experience!
