We had our wedding at Stanbrook Abbey a couple of weeks ago and the combination of the venue and staff gave us the most incredible day which we will remember for ever. The venue is beautiful and we chose to eat in the Callow Great Hall. The food and drink are some of the best. We loved the rural setting/location. Jodie was highly responsive and organised throughout the planning process which helped to make the arrangements come together. Clyde did the most amazing job the day before and on the day of the wedding making it come to life and be a success - he was passionate and extremely flexible. One downside / point of note that I was quite surprised by is no professional microphone system in the abbey. Personally I don’t think you can successfully hold a large wedding without one so you will need to sort this yourselves… we brought our own in at the last minute which just about did the job, but far from ideal. I’m summary, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

Step inside the spacious reception hall and you’ll start to feel very special because it has all the grandeur of a stately home; warm oak floors with wool rugs, deep red flock wallpaper, gilt-framed oil paintings and a huge fireplace. That classic country house look is continued throughout Severn Manor, it’s like a baby Downton Abbey, exclusively yours!Off the reception hall are the Oak Room and the formal Drawing Room, both with phenomenal carved oak fireplaces; the Drawing Room has a baby grand piano, so have a tinkle of the ivories after dinner, just like they did in Victorian times. A tiled inner hall leads to the main staircase, stunning in oak and wrought iron; look up and you’ll notice the ornate ceiling mouldings, all part of the historic character of this beautiful English country house.Next to the Drawing Room is The Snug, another room where those rich red hues work to wonderful effect, giving the feel of a Victorian ‘card Room’.Then there’s the Breakfast Room, with an outlook over the pretty garden, the perfect spot to kick start your day with coffee and croissants. This leads through to the Formal Dining Room, with double aspect windows, garden views and all the feel of a stately home; a door leads through to the Orangery which in turn opens onto the veranda and the south-facing terrace at the back of the house.The kitchen is straight ahead of the inner hall, and Wow, what a kitchen!
