We arrived to an odd location, not a normal Marriott experience. The check in desk was small, not what one would expect for a large hotel, or resort. Luckily there were no queues, it would have been a very long wait. Check in staff were good, friendly, no issues at all. In our group were two mums, one dad, and 5 kids (ages - 14,11,11,10,8) We headed over to the kids pool area (the main reason we selected this hotel venue). The whole area was very inferior looking. Small pool area, slide was not too bad, the surroundings seemed very drab, and didn't seem clean at all. The bar looked half stocked, the service was slow. No one greeted us with a smile, we didnt feel welcome at all, we felt like we were a burden to the few staff that were there. We had to try and clean the table ourselves, there was dirty water on the floor area by the bar, where the tables are, some of this was spoilt drink, that we had to ask someone to clean up. Food came fairly fast, but was worse than a fast food place for quality. Trash bags left out by the bin. no one handing out pool towels (they were hidden, so we had to grab them ourselves). The kids complained that the pool water was freezing - this is disgraceful, you are saving money on not heating the pool! Pool bar shut at 6pm, along with slide, and waterfall. So bad. You have to pay for beach lounge - cheapskate hotel! The rooms are actually very good, and worthy of the price. If you just need to stay in the room, and you dont need to use their restaurants, or kids pool then you will be fine. For us, basically we will never come back, nor could i recommend this. Far superior hotels 45 mins south.
