Estrela da Luz Resort

Resort is very well designed and offers everything one might need during vacation. Numerous restaurants, pubs and cafeterias located short distance from the resort. Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment and enjoyed every minute. Apartment was cleaned to perfection and very well equipped. Experienced extremely warm and friendly welcome from professional staff at the reception. We fully recommend this resort.

Excellent location, amenities etc. Our apartment was excellent, but bed was horrendously uncomfortable! Only Complaint, great week, weather was super throughout the week, which was a great surprise for November.

I could not recommend this resort more to absolutely anyone that is thinking of staying in Praia de Luz! Firstly and most importantly the staff at this resort have gone above and beyond every single day during our visit. We arrived past midnight due to a delay in our transfer this time got pushed back further and we did not arrive until 1am. The security man could not of been more welcoming and understanding when we arrived. Unfortunately we did not catch his name, but he is an absolute credit to the company by showing us to our room and ensuring we had everything we needed. After being instructed to check in properly the next morning we did so and was greeted by the lovely Joana. We have never experienced such top class service checking into a hotel. Joanna provided us with so many fantastic recommendations for excursions and restaurants and more. We tried out many of the suggestions and found them to all be absolutely amazing and can not thank Joana enough for making our time in Portugal so memorable! We had breakfast included in our stay, the lady who runs this is absolutely wonderful and has a great eye for detail. Unfortunately we did not catch her name, however it is a must visit to start your day with so many options to choose from daily and everything tasting so fresh. On arrival I was provided a voucher for a massage in the spa. After never having the luxury of having a massage I booked in with Margarita. The woman was absolutely magical, I felt at ease straight away with her and can not wait to return to book in for further treatments with her! We stayed for 10 days and only expected the cleaners to maybe change the sheets once or twice, to our surprise almost daily it felt the cleaners had visited to freshen up the place. On two separate occasions we came in to find a bottle of Prosecco that had been left for us. The cleaners are one of the most thorough, hard working and friendliest ladies we have ever encountered on our travels. When it comes to the apartment itself, we booked a one bedroom apartment. When viewing images online it looked basic but reasonably priced for 10 days. When we arrived we were absolutely stunned at what we found, the apartment is absolutely massive with beautiful sea views, 2 balconies, the comfiest king size bed and a large living space with a lovely corner sofa and massive television. To say it was not what we expected would be an understatement we could not quite believe our luck! The location of the resort is absolutely perfect, a 5 minute walk to the beach and lots of bars and restaurants and a 10 minute Uber ride to Lagos which cost around €7.00 so you can’t complain! The pool areas are beautifully kept, we stayed upstairs at the adult pool and found that it was relatively quiet with plenty of sun beds and really felt like you were in your own slice of paradise. This hotel is one of my most enjoyable stays in in recent years. The staff are fantastic, they remember you, they are friendly, helpful & professional. The rooms are spacious, well kept and fresh. We had a 2 bedroom apartment that was ideal for our kids to stay in one room & myself & my partner in the other with our infant. The pool area is clean, well kept & quiet. Unlike many other hotels there is always sun loungers and space to park the buggy. There is an adult pool seperate to the family area allowing adults a calm space if the children playing was not ideal for them. The hotel has a high level of security, there are many key card locks, security doors and security cameras, this left us feeling very comfortable with our 3 children. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel, I dont believe its owned by the hotel but it was an exceptionally high quality of food. While there it was my partners birthday. We had intended on going into Lagos or somewhere for a special meal but after eating in this restaurant my partner actually wanted to go back here instead! Notably the hotel recognised (presumably through the passport record) my partners birthday and went to the extent to leave a small gift for her in our room while we were at the beach. Absolutely fantastic staff (esp. the breakfast & pool bar staff), beautiful location, really nice hotel. couldnt rate higher

I had THE most amazing treatment from Margarita in the SPA. A full body treatment consisting of 3 separate components ; a fully body exfoliation, a body masque, completed with the most relaxing full body massage. I loved the products, they were light, beautiful scent and full of natural ingredients. The avocado and sesame oil left my skin feeling really smooth, soft and hydrated #skeyndor #jewelsfromnature It felt like my body was being nourished whilst being relaxed at the same time! For anyone unsure about the 'masque', (because I was a little) - it was lovely, products full of goodness, absorbed by the body, so no need for any removal! LOVED IT!!!!

An extremely relaxing and enjoyable stay in Estrela Da Luz for two weeks in July. A very well appointed location which is convenient and accessible. Great service and willingness to be of assistance by staff. Praia da Luz is a quiet resort - the livelier Lagos is readily accessible by bus (cheap) which runs a regular until late throughout the day (30 minute trip) Would recommend Estrela to couples and families who are looking for a location away from the party scene.

Another wonderful stay at Estrela da Luz in 2023! Everyone at the Reception desk was always so friendly, and helpful. The housekeeping staff are amazing! The apartment was so clean on my arrival, and remained that way during my entire stay. I loved the welcoming special touch of water and milk in the refrigerator and the coffee pods and sweet treat as well! Enjoyed the breakfast most mornings at Calabaza.

I attended this resort with my young family and while it is a nice place a female manager and pool guard spoiled our holiday. They singled out my children for jumping into the pool, even though every other child was doing this, then it was for playing with a small ball in the pool, again most other children and parents were doing the same. Then finally the pool guard gave out to my little girl stating she had jumped into the pool, on this occasion I had simple lifted her up and dropped her in the water while we were both in the pool. My daughter was crying asking me why this man was picking on us and not saying anything to other families. The only conclusion I can come to is I am well built, have tattoos and I'm bald, I am also, unknown to these people well educated and a clinical healthcare professional in child psychology. When I asked the pool guard why he repeatedly reprimanded my family he pointed to a pool camera and said my boss said to keep an eye on you. We ended up going off site to the beach every day so as to spend as little time as possible on site. We will never go back.
