Le Moulin, Lourmarin, a Beaumier Hotel

"The service is generally not matched by the positioning of the entire hotel. Secondly, the wireless network is very slow. I have repeatedly asked if I can use the wireless network with a password and it is rejected, resulting in difficulties in work. The do not disturb sign on the door is still cleaned by someone."

Hotel Bastide & Spa - Villa de Lourmarin

"Mi esposa y yo reservamos el Hotel Bastide por 4 noches para un fin de semana de bodas. Nuestra experiencia fue terrible. Limpieza de la habitación: -10/10 Respeto al cliente: 0/10 Razones de la más significativa a la menos significativa: 1. Había algunas moscas oblongas en la habitación. No es gran cosa, las maté. Luego vi algunas más en el baño. Entonces me quejé. La recepción dijo "el equipo de limpieza deja la puerta abierta y entran volando, después de que las mates deberías estar bien". Luego vi una cría de mosca en la cama y encontré otra en las cortinas, y fui a buscar más en la habitación. Había una plaga en el exterior de la habitación, y se arrastraban libremente debajo de la puerta corrediza de vidrio cerrada (ver foto) 2. La caja fuerte estaba literalmente rota. La puerta colgaba de las bisagras. Antes de descubrir la plaga, fui a la recepción para quejarme por esto, y me dijeron "tenemos muchos problemas con las cajas fuertes aquí". Vale… (ver foto adjunta) 3. El lavabo del baño está "dentro" de la ducha, así que hay que caminar por el suelo para llegar. Todavía estaba mojado cuando entramos en la habitación y olía a moho. (Ver foto adjunta) 4. Había polvo por todo el armario y las puertas, lo que asquea más a mi mujer que a mí, pero es una muestra de su atención al detalle al limpiar la habitación (ver foto adjunta y el punto 3 anterior). Tras identificar el origen de los bichos (y que no se pudiera solucionar), pedimos que nos cambiaran de habitación. Estaban todos reservados. En ese momento, no tuvimos más remedio que reservar en otro hotel. El recepcionista, al ver el origen de los bichos, nos aseguró que creía que el propietario sería razonable y aceptaría nuestra solicitud de reembolso. Reservamos con Chase y, hasta ahora (unas 3 semanas después), el propietario no ha respondido a sus preguntas. Obviamente, no lo recomiendo."

Le Galinier Lourmarin, a Beaumier Guesthouse

"We loved this hotel so much that we booked a second night. The hotel itself is gorgeous; as is the room that had an array of small gifts waiting for us. We stayed in the winter so there was only the one staff member during the day only, but that was fine for us. She was warm and spoke perfect English. We had a self check in late at night and the instructions provided were perfect. It was actually quite nice to enter the property with no one present. It felt like an adventure driving in the long driveway in the dark, pushing through the small dark heavy wooden door to enter into this incredible old world kitchen gently lit up at night time, and from there making our way up the curving staircase to our room that had our name on the door. If you are looking for a place that makes you feel like you are well and truly in France, this is it. We have been living in the south of France for the last few years and have travelled extensively in Provence. This hotel is by far the quintessential French experience that a foreigner dreams of. The breakfast for me was paradise - such a variety of fresh produce - and presented in picture perfect style. If you like to take photos of your food, you’ll spend just as much time taking photos of the kitchen and breakfast buffet as you will eating it. As well as cold foods, we were asked if we wanted eggs of any style and bacon. I had informed the hotel ahead of time that I was gluten free and they provided me with a lovely rustic gluten free raisin bread - well above the step of the usual tasteless gf bread that other french hotels provide (if they provide any at all). As it was winter, breakfast was served on two communal dining tables. Having said this, you are not forced to make small talk with anyone as the tables are very long and each party is seated away from others so that it feels private. Location of the hotel is superb. If you are there on a Friday morning, the (most beautiful) market is practically right outside your door!"

Mas la Cheneraie

"Located just a short walk from the heart of the charming village of Lourmarin, Mas La Cheneraie is a tranquil slice of Provence. Upon arrival we were buzzed through the gate and into the secure parking area. Very shortly we were warmly welcomed, shown to our room and offered a much appreciated light refreshment. The setting is relaxing and our room was clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. The room had a small kitchenette and dining area which we used to prepare a light meal. In the morning we simply called Aurélie and Sébastien to let them know we were ready for breakfast. A few minutes later there was a knock on our door and a delicious breakfast tray was delivered to us. We could choose between eating at our dining table or outside on our private patio area. We did a little of each and enjoyed them both. Our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The location made it both easy to walk to the village for the morning market or to go to dinner without having to drive and park, and, to hit the road to explore the surrounding countryside. It was a wonderful experience and we hope to return someday. Weather and time permitting, we may even take advantage of the inviting looking swimming pool! "
