Kensington and Chelsea Apartment

The place was cheap but barely fit for human habitation, some of the electrics were broken with visible wires hanging out. Many of the lights didn’t work. There was a non working CO2 sensor above the boiler. There were no fire/smoke alarms anywhere in the property. The whole house had a fusty unclean smell, the toilet being particularly bad as it smelt of stale urine. Although the outer bed sheets were clean on closer inspection the actual duvet and pillows look like they had been taken from someone on the streets. The crockery and utensils in the kitchen were greasy and dirty, some of the crockery of which there wasn’t not enough for the people staying was badly damaged. The locks on the doors were inadequate and could have easily been broken into. In fact the bedroom door my wife and I slept in had been broken into judging by the damage to it. And if all of the above doesn’t stop you booking a room here on the final night one of the guests was awoken by a scratching noise in the kitchen which he found to be a large rat crawling through the bin. Verdict: cheap and not cheerful.

The apartment was terrible in every aspect. It was filthy, clearly not cleaned in months, and it was extremely beaten up and worn down. There were marks and dust anywhere you could look. Worse still, there was a door connecting the "apartment" to the next appartment which was paper thin and held closed by 2 very loose scews. We could literally hear the next people whispering. It felt massively unsafe and concerning, on top of the terrible condition fo the building as a whole. The bathrooms was full of mould and hairs from previous stays. Under the bed (I dropped my phone, almost chose to leave it), the dust there was absolutely vile. All in all, it's filthy, unsafe and generally a massive waste of money. The staff couldn't have cared less that we were there, either. Just save yourself the pain and go elsewhere.

This apartment will not be what you see on the pictures. I will upload the pictures of what we were met with on arrival, I only wish we had taken better photos of the over all space for anyone thinking of booking here! We met someone at the apartment door with the key, the hallway looked grubby but we'd hoped from the pictures on here that the apartment would be ok? We knew for the money it wasn't going to be a palace but clean and safe was the least we expected? We did book this as a 3 "bedroom" apartment, that is how it is marketed? we did not expect the mezzanine floor to be one of the bedrooms? the steps up to this level are not something you would expect to be legal in accommodation that you are paying for and none of us could see how this is legal? when up on this level you need to duck down (i'm 5ft 2) The bed was broke and the dirt under the bed was the beginning of just how disgusting this place is, the photo's I attach are very forgiving of just how bad it is! There was food and grease all over the chairs, the sofa was disgusting! I don't think anyone had cleaned the windows in years! curtains hanging off the rails, microwave dirty, cupboards were disgusting, the bed sheets had blood on them, the duvet had hair and what looked like mouse droppings inside, the rugs were dirty, I didn't even get to the bathroom but it looks like the previous reviewer did? When we challenged the guy with the keys and asked to speak with a manager someone else came who told us you get what you pay for! after about 15 minutes of discussion and him telling us his boss wouldn't answer the phone because "he has a life at the weekend" and the accounts department wouldn't answer to accept a refund to us as they are closed over the weekend we left, where there were two men sat outside in a large van trying to intimidate us!

These apartments have been on *********** since 2014, not only were we disgusted with the apartment we are also dumbfounded that booking sites continue to allow them to stay on their books????? Why would any business want this kind of negative feedback?? As you can see for yourselves, the photos say it all and they don’t really show just how bad these apartments are? I’m now in talks with the royal borough of Kensington & Chelsea Health & safety department to ensure that others after us don’t have to endure the upset we did. The vendor will not refund you and because we left the property because it was inhabitable *********** won’t give a refund either, so please be aware of this when booking. We didn’t expect much from the apartment but clean and safe was the absolute minimum!

Communication on arrival and to get to the apartment needs to improve

arrived to the place and no signs. tried to a bill. no answer. tried to call by phone. no answer. waited next to the door 30 min. no one opened the door. it looks awful at the door. it is scam. Lost my money. turn around and looked for another place to stay. absolutely horrible.

Worst experience don’t go, there is no check in person answering the phone , no towels , no clean sheets

Please don't book the accommodation, no one was picking up the phone when we called on the number provided to get the room key. We had to find another room in the middle of the night because we couldn't get in touch with the apartment owner.
