"Hace dos años que volvemos al Hotel Baía de Oro y cada vez confirmamos todas nuestras expectativas. La ubicación es simplemente maravillosa: directamente al mar, con una vista maravillosa y la comodidad de tener la playa a pocos pasos. Uno de los aspectos que más apreciamos es la amableza y profesionalidad de todo el personal. De las recepcionistas, con una mención especial para Morena, siempre sonriente y disponible, a todo el personal del restaurante, a los baños, a los baristas (especialmente Jude, siempre cordial y cuidadoso), hasta las señoras de limpieza que realizan un trabajo inequívoco. La limpieza es realmente uno de los puntos fuertes de la estructura: todo se cura en los mínimos detalles, desde las habitaciones a las zonas comunes, hasta la playa. Es raro encontrar un nivel de atención tan alto. También la restauración merece un aplauso: se come muy bien tanto al almuerzo como a cenar, con una amplia selección de platos de carne y pescado, tanto para los primeros como para los segundos, capaz de satisfacer todos los gusto. La calidad de los alimentos es siempre excelente y la variedad de propuestas hace que cada comida sea agradable. El hotel es atraído principalmente por los huéspedes franceses, pero todo el personal es italiano, creando una atmósfera agradable y familiar que nos hace sentir siempre en casa. Un lugar donde relajarse, calidad y hospitalidad se encuentran perfectamente. No vemos el momento de volver el año próximo! 🌊☀️🏖️"

"Style over substance. This place has the potential to be really really good, but sadly it’s lacking in so many areas. When you first arrive, it’s beautiful, the scenery, the pool, the Baglio - all picture postcard, but scratch the surface and that’s all it really is. We had room 3 and it constantly smelt of mould and damp. We had to keep the windows open day and night. This won’t be a surprise to the owners as there were air fresheners all over the room, plug in ones in the bedrooms and bathroom and stand alone ones scattered around with 4 on the of the wardrobe alone. Breakfast - selection was fine-ish. However, nothing was replenished unless you asked for it including plates, cups, fruit, milk, eggs, quite literally everything. I was told that nothing would be replenished after 9.30am even though breakfast finishes at 10am. They started removing food from the buffet at 9.50am. Cappuccino was virtually all milk and had very little coffee in it. Espresso was good. Pool bar - only opens from 1.30pm so if you want a drink before then, forget it. There are no options. There are no ice creams available and no snacks or food available other than melazane parmigiana and a pasta salad for lunch, every day. Antonio at the bar made a good cocktail, but it’s such a shame that there was literally nothing else available to buy to eat around the pool, especially if you have kids as the nearest supermarket is 20 mins away. Next available time for food is 7.30pm when dinner is served. Dinner was a set menu at €35 a head and it was fine. We ate twice and the portions and menu was good. Service was lacking. The owner/manager was never around, the staff were overworked and you had to ask for everything and anything. Tables at breakfast and at the pool bar were never cleared and we weren’t felt welcomed. Positives - the vineyard up the road. We did an evening wine tour at the vineyard and it was fantastic! The food, wine, guided tour and whole evening was so good. It was the highlight of our trip and would definitely recommend you give it a go. With a few tweaks this place could be so good, but sadly, as it is, we wouldn’t return and we wouldn’t recommend."
